Because You're Mine
Chanté Moore Lyrics

And heard somebody say,
I give him thanks for all
The good things he has sent my way,
It's then when I wondered if
You didn't do the things you do,
If they would still give all
The adoration due to you,
It's not because you're good,
That I feel the way I do,
It's not because you're kind,
That makes life for me brand new,
Could be because your love,
It's the only love so true,
But it's because you're mine,
That is my reason
The more that time goes by
The better it becomes to me,
It's so much sweeter than
I ever dreamed it could be,
Don't get me wrong I do enjoy
The finer things in life,
But life without you I found
Nothing word that sacrifice,
I only know
It's not because you're good,
That I feel the way I do,
It's not because you're kind,
That makes life for me brand new,
Could be because your love,
It's the only love so true,
But it's because you're mine,
That is my reason
It's not because you're good,
That I feel the way I do,
It's not because you're kind,
That makes life for me brand new,
Could be because your love,
It's the only love so true,
But it's because you're mine,
That is my reason
You've been so good,
And you're oh so kind,
I've never found a greater love
It's not because you're good,
That I feel the way I do,
It's not because you're kind,
That makes my life brand new,
Could be because your love,
It's the only love so true,
But it's because you're mine
It's not because you're good,
You've been so good,
Could be because your love,
But it's because you're mine
It's not because you're good,
It's not because you're kind,
Could be because your love,
But it's because you're mine
It's not because you're good,
You've been so good,
Could be because your love,
But it's because you're mine
It's not because you're good,
It's not because you're kind,
Could be because your love,
But it's because you're mine
It's not because you're good,
You've been so good,
Could be because your love,
But it's because you're mine,
It's not because you're good
The lyrics to Chanté Moore’s “Because You’re Mine” express gratitude for a love that goes beyond just being good or kind. The singer questions whether those who give thanks to a higher power for their blessings would still do so if those blessings were not present. This leads to the realization that the singer’s love for their partner is not based on their partner’s positive attributes, but rather the fact that they belong to them.
The first verse points out that the things that are often thanked for are material possessions or good fortune. The singer questions whether people would still give thanks to a higher power if they did not receive these things. This suggests that the singer is looking for a love that goes beyond what is superficial or temporary. They want something more meaningful and enduring. The chorus reiterates that the singer’s love is not based on their partner being good or kind, but rather the fact that they belong to them. This creates a feeling of security and stability in the relationship.
The second verse emphasizes how much the relationship means to the singer. The singer acknowledges that there are finer things in life, but ultimately they are willing to sacrifice those things for their partner. The chorus highlights the fact that the singer’s love is unique and cannot be replicated. It is only the love they have for their partner which makes life feel brand new. The song ultimately conveys a sense of utter devotion and commitment on the part of the singer.

It's not because you're good,
You've been so good,
Could be because your love,

A repeat of the previous line, emphasizing that the singer's love is unconditional and based on ownership.
It's not because you're good,
It's not because you're kind,
Could be because your love,
But it's because you're mine
Another repeat of the same sentiment - the singer's love is not based on the person's positive traits, but rather that they are hers.
