Is that OK?
Lights make up, don't need my script
I know the lines
Smile, sing a love song
Act, like nothing's wrong
I know you're lost but alone
Action, go though the motion
Stop! Where's my understudy?
I can't go on, maybe she can take my place
You don't know me
No you don't
You don't dare
You don't even bother
I'm so lonely
I'm fading fast
When you see me, I feel invisible
When you hold me I feel nothing at all
And in this masquerade, I know the part I played
Put on a happy face pretend that it's not that way
And all I have to say is
Don't make me laugh
Ha hi ha ha ha h hi
It's not funny anymore
Hey chin up!
What's wrong with you?
I'm giving it all I got
Hmmm, it's not enough
This hurts too much
You don't even call it love
You don't know me
No you don't
You don't dare
You don't even bother
I'm so lonely
I'm fading fast
When you see me, I feel invisible
When you hold me I feel nothing at all
I'm in this masquerade, I know the part I play
But all that happy face pretend that it's not that way
And all I have to say is
Don't make me laugh
Ha hi ha ha ha h hi
It's not funny anymore
Wave goodbye, curtain's coming down
This is our final act
It's over, it's over now
And when you see me, I feel invisible
When you hold me I feel nothing at all
I'm in this masquerade, I know the part I play
But all that happy face pretend that it's not that way
And all I have to say is
This girl is gone
Don't make me laugh
Ha hi ha ha ha h hi
It's not funny anymore
And when you see me, I feel invisible
When you hold me I feel nothing at all
It's not funny anymore
It's not funny anymore
And all I have to say is
Don't make me laugh
Don't make me, don't make me
Don't make me laugh
The song Don't Make Me Laugh by Chante Moore is a ballad that explores the feelings of a woman who is emotionally distant from her partner. The lyrics open with the singer checking her appearance and preparing to perform, indicating that she is putting up a façade to conceal her true emotions. She tries to smile and act as if everything is fine, but acknowledges her loneliness and the pain she feels. The chorus repeats the title line, with the singer emphasizing that her situation is not humorous and pleading with her partner to understand her feelings.
As the song progresses, the singer becomes increasingly disillusioned with her relationship, expressing hurt and disappointment that her partner does not truly know or care about her. She feels invisible and numb when he is around, and even his attempts to encourage her feel hollow. The climax of the song comes when the singer realizes it is time to end the relationship, and she delivers the final line with a firm declaration that she is moving on.
Overall, this song is a powerful statement of the importance of emotional connection in a relationship. It speaks to the experience of many who feel trapped in a one-sided partnership, and offers a call to action for those who need to make a change.
