Verse 1: Goodnight baby I'd rather dream Than see where we're going awake (I'd rather be dreamin') So i Close my eyes and fantasize About our love and the way it used to be (candleLight Holding hands making a lifetime of plans) We let our desires lead the way (My house, your car and then our child_ Oh, what a life...I woke up and started to cry
Verse 2: Tell me, tell me you've got news for me Tell me that's not the way it has to be That we can make love like the way we did before And make war no more
be Sec: (Now you're kissing me) Ooh, and i like that (Now you're telling me) Everything is gonna be all right (How our love can be) It can be better than it was before Tell me, tell me more, tell me more!
Bridge: You look in my eyes and tell me you've changed And tell me I don't ever have to change my name You smiled at me and started to fly Oh, what a life I woke up and started to cry
(repeat chorus to fade)
The song "I Started Crying" by Chanté Moore is a heart-wrenching ballad about a relationship that has gone sour. The song begins with the singer expressing her discontentment with the current state of her relationship, and she would rather dream about how things used to be instead of facing the harsh realities of their current situation. She reminisces about the happy times they shared, holding hands, talking about their future, and dreaming of a family, before transitioning into the chorus, "I started crying."
In the second verse, the singer asks her partner to tell her some good news, to reassure her that their relationship can still be salvaged, and they can get back to the way things once were. The singer wants their love to be passionate again, just like before, and to avoid any more arguments.
The bridge is a bit uplifting as the singer explains how her partner has changed and that he's promising her a better future. The song ends with the repeated chorus, which might suggest that the singer hasn't found the hope she was looking for and is still feeling the emotional pain of her broken relationship.
