BELIEVING
Charles Esten & Lennon & Maisy Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I don't remember how I got here
When my rose coloured glasses disappeared

Sometimes my fingers, they can lose touch
Start letting go of everything I love

When I get the feeling
That my prayers have hit the ceiling
And those darker days
When my faith has lost all meaning
You keep me believing

My fears are safe here, held in your hand
When I'm broken, you put me back together again

All that I once was,
All I could be,
When I've forgotten
Baby you remind me

When I get the feeling
That my prayers have hit the ceiling
And those darker days
When my faith has lost all meaning
You keep me believing

If every red heart, starts feeling blue

All you are for me
Baby, I'll be that for you

When I get the feeling
That my prayers have hit the ceiling
And those darker days
When my faith has lost all meaning
When I get the feeling
That my prayers have hit the ceiling
And those darker days
When my faith has lost all meaning

You keep me believing
You keep me believing

You keep me believing

Overall Meaning

The song "Believing" by Charles Esten and Lennon & Maisy is a heartfelt tribute to the power of faith and the importance of having someone you can count on to keep you believing, even in the darkest of times. The first line of the song, "I don't remember how I got here, when my rose-coloured glasses disappeared," sets the tone for the rest of the lyrics, which focus on the challenges of losing faith and feeling lost and disconnected from the world around you. The singer explains how sometimes they can lose touch with the things they love and forget who they really are, but that they always find their way back thanks to the support and love of another person.

Throughout the song, the lyrics use powerful imagery and metaphors to convey the idea of feeling lost and disconnected. For example, the line "When my fears are safe here, held in your hand" paints a picture of vulnerability and trust, while the line "all that I once was, all I could be, when I've forgotten, baby you remind me" speaks to the importance of having someone who knows you deeply and can help you reconnect with your true self.

Ultimately, the song is about the power of love and the importance of having faith, both in oneself and in others. It's a reminder that even when things feel bleak and hopeless, there is always someone there who believes in you and will keep you believing, no matter what.

This Believing is a beautiful song. can be ment to family friends spouses companions and God is right there helping them help us. I think of my daughter and mynstrugles of being a widowed single mother doing the part of Mom and Dad all her life. and when I'd loose faith I would look at my beautiful daughter ! she and her faith in God kept me going. They kept me believing I could do this! I could make it ...I did, she's now 28 college graduate with 2 degrees' married happily, and a beautiful young lady! I don't know how I had the strength to buy us a w story home on 1 1/2 acres. she went to a Blue Ribbon school. 4rth in the US. ALL BY FAITH AND BELIEVING IN GOD! 500 PLUS fastpitch games & Track 300 meter hurdles she was 3 rd in stare. ( flipped me out!!) and senior year wanted to be a cheerleader after 11th yrs of fastpitch. ( where she was the shortstop. Batted 1st because she could run so fast. shed get all the way to 3rd. THOSE ARE JUST A FEW OF THE BLESSIBGS THAT CAME FROM BELIEVING ABD HAVING FAITH ... I play this song often. and I sent it to her finally and told her . this song and you helped me allot! and Madea "Let them go" video.
