He writes columns for the British newspaper The Guardian, which include Screen Burn (a satirical look at television). Based on the success of the column, Brooker was allowed to make a television version of the column for by BBC Four, Screenwipe. He also made Newswipe (a satirical look at the news), Gameswipe (a one-off special about computer games in the Screenwipe format) and You Have Been Watching (a satirical quiz about television for Channel 4). In 2010, Charlie Brooker moved to the world of radio with BBC Radio 4's So Wrong It's Right, which allegedly celebrates "Britain's favourite subject: failure". Brooker's columns are also available in book form.

I think Adam Curtis is massively oversimplifying and presenting the issue from a highly biased angle. While some of what he says is true I think there have been any number of other factors in the presentation of TV news over the last decades that he doesn't touch on or downright ignores. The idea that contemporary news reporting has any connection with counter-cultural hippy values is ludicrous.
