Born in Laurel, Mississippi, Mars' family moved to Jackson, Mississippi, when he was a senior in high school. He was lead singer and guitarist in a band called Adley Madidafus in high school.
He released his eponymous album in 2004.

Rahul Saini I watch the seasons so many times probably 10 times at this point and I still discover a new amazing song every time (multiple songs actually each time) and the sound track to this is so amazing I wish there was a pandora channel of all the songs they played on there.
