An unjustly overlooked, under-appreciated meeting of two masters. Completely classic.

de los poquitos temas que disfruto del Charlie parker,los que hizo con Machito. los suyos propios son de una velocidad incomprensible. pero bueno hay gustos de gustos, quiero decir, sin gustos no hay disgustos. gracias por subirlos

Charlie Parker 👏👏👏👍

Although Machito was Cuban, he professed that he was Puerto Rican by assimilation! Bird was African American plus a little native American blood I'm told. Perhaps Choctaw ? Not sure but I read that somewhere.

Interesting song. It doesn't have the fire that earlier Bird tunes had. This seems a bit too polished and controlled. Very little passion in the playing by Bird and the rest of the band.

@PabloVestory

I respectfully disagree, to me it transmits that Bird was relaxed and having fun. And his breve solo, maybe one more reordenation of his own magisterial ideas and licks, yet impeccably fluent and not boring at all

Bird plays the tune pretty straight and tight at the beginning, which is a very common jazz approach. However, Charlie is just getting started. At :59 the real genius of Parker's improvisation kicks in with 2 exquisite 16 bar phrases. A "growl" at 1:42 shows some passion. I wouldn't give up on this song until giving past :59 a listen.
