Before going solo, Robison was in the bands Chaparral, Millionaire Playboys, and Two Hoots and a Holler. At one point, Robison was on Warner Brothers, but apparently did not see eye to eye about his musical career there and left to release some albums on his own. Among his releases was a live disc also featuring brother Bruce Robison and Jack Ingram that was put out by Sony's Lucky Dog label. He then went to Dualtone Records.
Robison was a judge on the first season of the TV singing competition Nashville Star.
He married Emily Erwin of the Dixie Chicks in 1999 (the couple divorced on August 6, 2008). They have three children together: Charles Augustus, called "Gus", born November 11, 2002 and twins Julianna Tex (9:19pm, 6 lb 10 oz) and Henry Benjamin (9:29pm, 6 lb 14 oz), born on April 14, 2005. All three children were conceived via invitro fertilization.

Arms of Love
Charlie Robison Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Pretty as the stars above
But her mom snuck up to my pick-up truck
I was snatched from the arms of love
I had a class full of sass disguised as math
The only reason I showed up
But the man with the chalk sent me for a walk
Snatched from the arms of love
Never gonna get me enough
Of the sweet little thing that your baby brings
When you're snatched from the arms of love
Well, I've been working real hard on a Valentine's card
Sent it with my bills and stuff
But the postman snapshot a hole in his shack
I was snatched from the arms of love
Snatched from the arms of love
Never gonna get me enough
Of the sweet little thing that your baby brings
When you're snatched from the arms of love
I knew a dancer named Star, and she love guitar
Her dresses fit her like a glove
But my best friend Phil got a record deal
I was snatched from the arms of love
Snatched from the arms of love
Never gonna get me enough
Of the sweet little thing that your baby brings
When you're snatched from the arms of love
Snatched from the arms of love
Never gonna get me enough
Of the sweet little thing that your baby brings
When you're snatched from the arms of love
Of the sweet little thing that your baby brings
When you're snatched from the arms of love
The lyrics of Charlie Robison's song "Arms of Love" tell the tale of a man who is constantly being taken away from the person he loves. The song starts by describing a young girl who the singer fell for when she was just sixteen years old. However, their romance was short-lived as her mother found them together in his truck and pulled him away. This leaves the singer longing for the sweet little girl he can't be with.
As the song progresses, the singer shares three more anecdotes about being taken away from love. He describes how he was sent out of his math class, how his Valentine's card was lost in the mail, and how his best friend got a record deal before he had the chance to win over his dancer friend named Star. Each time, the singer is taken away from love and left missing the person he cares about.
The repeated chorus of "Snatched from the arms of love, never gonna get me enough, of the sweet little thing that your baby brings when you're snatched from the arms of love" serves as a reminder of the theme of the song. The singer is constantly being taken away from love, and nothing can ever fulfill that void.
Overall, the lyrics of "Arms of Love" tell a bittersweet tale of love and loss. The singer is constantly being taken away from the people he cares about, leaving a sense of longing that can never be fully satisfied.

And he had a lot more 'loot'....not 'more to lose'. Either way sounds good, though
