The song "Aléa Mba" by Charlotte Dipanda is based on a lover being hurt by their significant other. In the first verse, the singer asks a question about why her lover has done what they have done. The phrase "Aléa Mba" in the chorus seems to mean "what have I done" or "why me" in a lamenting way. The singer is pained by the betrayal and the hurt, and asks her lover why they have destroyed everything they had.
The lyrics continue to describe the pain and heartache the singer is experiencing after their lover's betrayal. In the second verse, the singer describes the idea of starting again or giving the relationship another chance, but her heart is too broken. The bridge speaks to the idea of forgiveness and moving on, with the hope that the pain will eventually fade away. The song ends on a repeating refrain of "Suwelè mba sango" which appears to mean "my hurt is deep" or "my wound is deep", indicating the long-lasting effects of the hurt caused by the lover.
