In 2008, iTunes named Chase one of the best new singer/songwriters of the year. Since then, he has continuously been on the iTunes top 100 singer/songwriter chart alongside classic artists such as Bob Dylan, Simon & Garfunkel and Nick Drake and great new artists such as William Fitzsimmons, The Weepies and Brett Dennen. Recently, Chase’s song “If the Moon Fell Down Tonight” was featured on an iTunes Essentials Rising Stars compilation.
To date, he has released one full-length CD (Look How Far We’ve Come) and three EPs (Dear Juliet, Goodbyes and Autumn Skies and December), selling more downloads than many of his contemporaries.
This year Chase is recording his first studio album for Universal Republic with a cinematic acoustic and string production that will further distinguish Chase and bring more attention to his music. In addition, Chase has toured extensively this year for the first time bringing his music live to the large fan base he has developed across the U.S. and the world.

Chase Coy Lyrics

Her voice is like a summer breeze
When it's ninety-eight degrees outside,
It's refreshing.
She could be the best thing that's ever happened to me.
But she's so far away.
She's so far away from me,
But she visits each night in my dreams.
The lyrics to Chase Coy's song "440" depict the singer's affection for a girl who he finds to possess qualities that are refreshing and comforting. He compares her eyes to the sunrise, which is a metaphorical way of saying that she brightens up his day just by looking at her. The comparison of her voice to a summer breeze is also an attempt by the singer to express how calming it is to speak to her. The summer breeze is especially appreciated when the temperatures are really high, and this is a possible reference to how this girl makes him feel even in difficult situations.
Despite the sweet feelings that he has for her, he admits that the girl is far away from him. However, he promises himself that he will find a way to bridge the distance between them. The fact that he dreams about her every night suggests that he is determined to make their relationship work regardless of any physical distance. Overall, the song is touching and conveys the message that love can overcome any physical barrier as long as the two people involved in the relationship are willing to work towards making it a success.
