Talk To Me
Chase Emery Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Come on and talk to me

You know I get funny sometimes

Stay with me child

And why don't you tell me what's on your mind
What's on your mind

Can't figure out why you look at me like you do

Your silent eyes they always speak the truth

Yeah it's true

So talk to me

You know I get funny sometimes

Stay with me child

And why don't you tell me what's on your mind

What's on your mind

Outside again your life, your touch

Around and around you spin till it hurts

Oh ooo oh

So talk to me

You know I get funny sometimes

Stay with me child

And why don't you tell me what's on your mind

What's on your mind

And don't you go fighting with me

And don't you go crying without me

And don't you go

No don't you go without me

Just talk to me

You know I get funny sometimes

Stay with me child

And why don't you tell me what's on your mind

What's on your mind

Talk to me, talk to me, talk to me

Talk to me

Overall Meaning

The song "Talk to Me" by Chase Emery is a plea for communication from one person to another. The singer is asking their partner to open up to them about what they are thinking and feeling because sometimes they can become distant and hard to read. The singer seems to be empathetic towards their partner's struggle to express themselves, but also wants to be there for them and offer support. The lyrics also suggest that the partner might be going through a difficult time outside of their relationship and the singer wants to help them navigate through it. The repeated chorus of "talk to me" emphasizes the importance of communication and not letting issues fester.

The lines "Your silent eyes they always speak the truth" demonstrate the power of nonverbal communication and how even if someone is not saying anything, they may still be expressing themselves through their body language. The lines "And don't you go fighting with me/And don't you go crying without me" suggest that the singer wants to work together with their partner through any challenges they might face.

Overall, "Talk to Me" is a tender reminder of the necessity of communication in relationships, and how it can strengthen the bond between two people.

Does anyone else just REALLY love Annemarie? Like just her presence in the videos brings a smile to my face. This episode was amazing and I loved hearing all your origin stories over the past few weeks! Can’t wait to see what other exciting topics you guys are going to cover! Love y’all! 💕

I’m acc glad that annemarie’s podcast is quite long because often I feel like she doesn’t get the chance or the attention enough for her to share her experience but this podcast was able to showcase her life story till now which is very interesting and helpful for me and others

Annemarie is becoming a fast favorite to me!! Her life is so rich and unique and she's so articulate with her thoughts :> PLUS I love this episode because I think out of all the roommates, I think we see her and Ashley interact the least, which I find odd since the few times we DO see them talk, they seem so close! I'm crossing my fingers we get to see them together more because I love their dynamic :>

@rooshi7

Loved this episode but we definitely need part 2 on her origin story just because she was asking others very deep and articulate questions (I especially loved the questions she asked Kelly) but everyone else talked about alot different things going off tangent (which I enjoyed too) but I think there’s so much more that could still be talked about when it comes to Annemarie’s life! Im 100% down for her own podcast LETS GOOOOO
