Eyes on You
Chase Rice Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

We've been to both Carolinas
Seen a big Montana sky
Driven up and down the coast a few times
London, Paris, paradise
But ain't got much memory of the scenes
Come to think, I miss them all
And damn, babe, it's all your fault
No matter where we go
No matter what we do
If you're there, girl, I've got my eyes on you
Don't matter where we've been
No, there ain't no better view
Than you in my arms with my eyes on you
With my eyes on you
(With my eyes on you)
With my eyes on you
(With my eyes on you)

Speakin' of the coast, remember Pfeiffer Beach?
You and me, that sunset, cliffs by the sea
And the night rolled in
And you still talk about that moon that I can't recall
But God I saw
All I needed to
Might as well have stayed in the room

No matter where we go
No matter what we do
If you're there, girl, I've got my eyes on you
Don't matter where we've been
No, there ain't no better view
Than you in my arms with my eyes on you
With my eyes on you
(With my eyes on you)
Yeah, with my eyes on you
(With my eyes on you)

And don't you remember Times Square?
And people countin' down everywhere
Two thousand whatever, no, I didn't care
'Cause, baby, you were there
And once again
Couldn't help but stare

No matter where we go
No matter what we do
If you're there, girl, I've got my eyes on you
Don't matter where we've been
No, there ain't no better view
Than you in my arms with my eyes on you

Halfway around the world
Or the local corner booth
Yeah, you guessed it, girl
You know I got my eyes on you
We could be on any street
Any party, any room
I'll be there all night with my eyes on you

Don't matter where we've been

No, there ain't no better view
Than you in my arms with my eyes on you

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Eyes On You" by Chase Rice express the singer's love and devotion for his significant other. He reminisces about the places they have been together, but realizes that those memories are not as important as the fact that she was there with him. Despite all the amazing sights and experiences they have had, nothing compares to the feeling of having her in his arms. The memories that stand out to him are the shared moments of intimacy, like watching the sunset on Pfeiffer Beach or counting down the New Year's Eve in Times Square. The song speaks to the idea that love is not about grand gestures or extravagant experiences, but about being present and connected to the person you care about.

The chorus reinforces this message by saying that it doesn't matter where they are or what they are doing; as long as she is by his side, he only has eyes for her. The song's repeated use of the phrase "with my eyes on you" underscores the idea of being present and fully engaged in the moment with the person you love.

Overall, "Eyes On You" is a romantic and intimate song that celebrates the power of love to transcend time, distance, and cultural differences. It underscores the importance of being fully present with the person you care about and cherishing even the small moments.

Saw Chase Sept 2 2023 in Utah with Jelly Roll and Struggle Jennings and that was the best concert I have ever been to and everyone i know that went has said the same. Chase is so genuine and there is an unreal energy that comes from him that literally gives me the chills. The songs he sings are beautiful and so relatable for so many of us. I am so glad I got the chance to see him Live and from the center on the 3rd row. He sings with soul and his passion for music and entertaining others is obvious and that's what makes a musician great. Music is Magic, and it can put a spell on your soul in wonderful ways. I hope I get the pleasure of meeting him one day and his adorable black lab , Jack.

I believe that somewhere in the world, there are people who feel the same emotions that I feel when I listen to masterpieces like this song.

I've developed such a love country music as an African American woman. No strings attached. We don't want to take over your genre just let us give love where is deserve. Don't shut us out. There are some people who just like country music just like there are some that enjoy rap. There's enough to share. Music is universal!
