Savior
Chasing Monroe Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I am back again a decade much stronger
Emerged from darkness Im everything you wanted.
Coffee and Cigarettes, they kept me going but I kept on going.
New state of mind, new kind of state
From the Freedom Wall to a fresh clean slate

Slowly I see you inside me.
Havent you heard that Im your savior?
Alone in this world but I can save ya
Spending all your time down on your knees, looking for me
Havent you heard?

When Im on the streets Ive got more courage
When the clouds get grey I just get more earnest
Time doesnt bother me cause Ive got the control. Im under control.
Like a rolling wave youll see me coming,
Disasters close but Im too stunning

Slowly I see you inside me.

Havent you heard that Im your savior?
Alone in this world but I can save you.
Spending all your time down on your knees, looking for me
Havent you heard?

And Im singing

Havent you heard that Im your savior?
Alone in this world but I can save ya

Spending all your time down on your knees, looking for me
Havent you heard?

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Chasing Monroe's song "Savior" seem to convey a sense of personal growth and self-realization. The opening lines "I am back again a decade much stronger, Emerged from darkness I'm everything you wanted" suggest the idea of emerging from a challenging experience, perhaps a period of darkness, and coming out as a stronger person. The singer also mentions "Coffee and Cigarettes, they kept me going but I kept on going," which could imply that the coping mechanisms or habits that they once relied on are no longer necessary, as they have found a new state of mind or a fresh clean slate to start anew.

As the song progresses, the singer seems to take on the role of a savior or a guiding figure. They mention that they are in control and can handle any challenges that come their way, as if they have come out the other side of their struggles with newfound inner strength. The lines "Haven't you heard that I'm your savior? Alone in this world but I can save ya" could be interpreted as an appeal to someone who is struggling, offering to help them in their time of need. The repetition of the chorus further emphasizes this point, as if the singer is trying to drive the message home.

In the final lines of the song, the singer seems to be declaring their power and influence, as they state "And I'm singing." This could be interpreted as a metaphor for exercising their newfound strength and using their voice to help others. Overall, "Savior" seems to be a song about personal growth and emerging from struggle as a stronger person who is capable of helping others.

Negan really only killed a couple people for

A. For killing his men first, by the time he got to Glenn and Abraham, the group has already killed maybe 100 men by storming them, For the price of two and half their products

B. Being traitors, The other leaders more or less commanded this ruthlessness, Negan didn’t authorize this many deaths, leaving a bad reputation on the Saviors

C. For breaking the simple rules

He wasn’t originally aware of his trusted leaders of half of these executions and secret trades, and brutality

Any remorse and sympathy Maggie and Daryl has for Arat was completely lost the moment she said “no exceptions”. They just looked at eachother and remembered that Negan said that right before he killed Glenn and Abraham. 👏🏻

@LuisGonzalez-qk4rk

no he only said that for glenn

@vexxxvy

daryl already lost all sympathy for her when she said he was only 11 years old

@JavierMartinez-oj3rg

He said it twice all right the first time when Glenn tries to save Maggie, even though negan considered trying to kill her out of mercy he said it the second time after Daryl punched him to punish him first disobedience

@sarickacampbell2642

@@vexxxvy no he loss sympathy for her when she said that she loved him and needed him. That’s when the camera pans and focuses on his face. That’s where you see the will to resist leave his body.

That moment Daryl and Maggie remembered Negan's words was the moment everyone remembered Glenn's death

@b-baller4life

I agree

@jalyceabraham1902

Those same words being No Exceptions, Arat said those words when she killed Cyndie's brother and laughed about it. Negan said those words himself when he killed Abraham and Glenn laughing maniacally.

Glenn’s spirit is literally everywhere in TWD. I just wish we could see him for real again..
