It's So Cold
Chat Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

It's so cold
So far away
Never complains
Never regrets
They all say
But never hear
What she says
And they don't care

But someday
She wants to dare
She would like to figure out

And that's her story
Let me be
She's so fragile
Let me near

It's so cold
So far away
Never complains
Never regrets

But someday
She wants to dare
She would like to figure out

But someday
She wants to dare
She would like to figure out

It's so cold (aah-aah)
It's so cold (aah-aah)

It's so cold (aah-aah)
It's so cold (aah-aah)

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Chat's song "It's So Cold" portray a character who is distant, uncomplaining, and seemingly unnoticed by others. The repetition of "It's so cold" emphasizes the feeling of isolation and emotional detachment that this character experiences. The opening lines imply that this person is physically far away from others, further adding to their sense of distance. They are depicted as someone who never complains or expresses regret, yet paradoxically, their words go unheard and their feelings remain unnoticed by those around them. The line "But someday she wants to dare" suggests that this individual longs to break free from their emotional confinement and take risks. They desire to understand themselves better and seek a deeper connection with the world. Despite their fragility, they yearn for someone to truly see them, symbolized by the line "Let me near."

Overall, the lyrics paint a picture of a person who is emotionally marginalized and longing for understanding and connection. They are trapped in a cold and indifferent world, yet they hold onto the hope of someday daring to break free and figure out themselves.

Angry sounds like 90s and 2000 Stones. Not great. Though there are 3 or 4 songs on there that sound like 70s Stones. Dreamy Skies comes to mind. Their new album is quite a revelation in that regard.

There is 64 to 67 Stones first where they start off as a blues cover band then transition to a pop rock band to pop band by 67 trying to follow trends instead of setting them. About 20 hit singles and arguably the 2nd most popular band next to the Beatles in this period.

But then the 1968 Rolling Stones hits with a bang. With Jumping Jack Flash and Beggars Banquet. And they become the band we identify today as the Stones. They get back to their 64 type blues but this time they make it their own by injecting their own newly acquired tastes of country, gospel and later funk into their combination of Bluesy rock and roll. And become a touring band again in 69. Iin 66 touring was auditoriums filled with screaming girls and rambunctious teenage boys ready to destroy the stage. But in 69 it was a whole new world of hippies and college kids going for the music to listen with complete attention. Jagger and the band start on their journey into real touring.

This period most say lasts from 68-72 with 4 back to back albums. I say 68 -74 with 6 back to back albums The rock critics were saying at the time the last, 2 Goats Head Soup and It's Only Rock and Roll was the beginning of their decline. I say that's nonsense. Those 2 albums do not mark the beginning of their decline nor are they lesser works. But that sentiment had never gone away. To this day people say still that even though it's absolutely not true.

I even say the 10 back to back super successful albums from 1968 to 81 there isn't a bad song on those 10. Lot of nice singles right up to 83 or 84 as well.

89 Steel Wheels has a lot of hits but for me the cut iff is 81 or 83. In 89 the songs have a more mature sound and too much of an adult pop sound from here on in.

You can see the chemistry these guys have. Thatโ€™s why they have survived for so long

Mick on his own would have been quite good. Same as the rest of The Stones, but put them together and it's a fuse that is still lit.
