Cheryline Lim was born 10 March 1983. She was born to a Bornean-born Chinese father, and a mother of a mixed of Indian and Dutch heritage. Born in Malaysia, Lim and her family moved to Perth, Australia when she was 10 years old. As a child she gained the attention of her father after singing in his karaoke lounge, seeing her talent. She later started writing and producing her own music in her home studio. Sir Charles Dixon discovered her talents, after she uploaded some of her music onto Myspace. Dixon took her material to Virgin Records and Virgin flew Che'nelle to New York at the end of 2005 to meet with representatives from the label. The chairman of the label and longtime music business baron, Jason Flom, signed her immediately. Within two days, she had completed the deal and was marketed as a world-class artist. Che'nelle worked as a promotions assistant before moving to New York in January after signing a six-album deal with Virgin Records America. In Australia, she is represented by EMI.
She performed as the opening act on Kanye West's Australian tour in March 2006.
Her debut album Things Happen for a Reason was released on 25 September 2007 in Japan and 29 October 2007 in Australia. The first single from this album was "I Fell in Love with the DJ" featuring reggae artist Cham. The song was also produced in Bahasa Malaysia with the title of "DJ yang Ku Puja".

Ricki-Lee's debut single "Hell No!" and Leona Lewis's song "Can't Breathe"
Her second album was later confirmed and given the
working title "Feel Good", named after the first single off the album.

I've been wondering why
How could it all go wrong
Why do I sing this saddest song
Who would have ever thought
That you and I would
come to this
Now here I am all on my own
I love you
Come to me and I will
hold you tight
I'll take what's wrong
and make it right
Show you boy that I am still
I am still the one
I miss that
morning glow upon your face
That smile, that kiss,
your warm embrace
Oh please believe it's true
No I just can't make it through
I'm missing you
missing you
Looking back on better days
When we talked of love
through eternity
And a little house upon a hill
Where we would raise a family
Who would ever thought
That all those dreams would
just fade away
Yet through this tear
I still believe
There will come a day
I love you
Come to me and I will
hold you tight
I'll take what's wrong
and make it right
Show you boy that I am still
I am still the one
I miss that
morning glow upon your face
Your smile, that kiss,
your warm embrace
Oh please believe it's true
No I just can't make it through
I'm missing you
If I could make a wish
and have anything
In this whole wide world
I'd want to share that dream
with you
I love you
Come to me and I will
hold you tight
I'll take what's wrong
and make it right
Show you girl that I am still
I am still the one
I miss that
morning glow upon your face
That smile, that kiss,
your warm embrace
Oh please believe it's true
Cause I just can't
make it through
I'm missing you ...
Missing you...
Missing you...
Missing you...
"Missing" is a heartfelt ballad by Che'Nelle about the pain of missing someone who was once close to you. The song is about the end of a relationship and the longing that comes with it. She sings about how she can't understand why things went wrong and how she misses the little things about her former partner.
The song starts with Che'Nelle saying she's been wondering why things went wrong since the day she had to say goodbye. She can't believe how they went from being together to being apart. She questions why this is happening to her and why she has to be so lonely without him. She still has feelings for her ex-boyfriend and wants him to know that she loves him.
In the second verse, she reminisces about the happy times they shared, such as when they talked about starting a family together. She cannot believe how their dreams became a distant memory. Despite her sadness and tears, she still holds onto the hope that one day he'll come back to her, that they'll be together again.
The chorus is a plea to her former lover to come back to her. She wants to hold him tight and make things right, to show him that they can still be together. She misses everything about him, from the way he smiled to the warmth of his embrace. She can't bear the thought of him being away.
Overall, the message of the song is about the pain of missing someone who was once a significant part of your life. It's about longing for that person and trying to hold onto hope that one day things will be better between them.
