With influences that range from LCD Soundsystem to Radiohead and the Spice Girls. Cheats sets out to create sweet melodies with a bitter aftertaste.
In short, they want to make people dance all night, then cry on the ride home. Cheats, represented by LockedDown Entertainment, is currently recording their first album with Ely Buendia as producer.

The lines of Cheats's song "Accidents" explores the theme of an unexpected birth that happened inside someone's home which led to the end of someone's life. Through the lines "Accidents inside your home, I was an accident inside your home", the singer highlights that their existence had some sort of impact on the home where they were born. The lyrics "My band has died and so my life ends, I blame the timing, I blame who made it, mismanaged younglings. This time I was thinking wrong" reveals that the singer had aspirations to make some sort of breakthrough in music but unfortunately, their band was not successful. The singer blames the poor timing and management of the band which led to its early demise. The lyrics then delve into the singer's sense of entitlement as they believed that their birthright should have guaranteed some sort of success. The lines "That my birthright counted and that I deserved it" reveal the sense of entitlement and privilege held by the singer.
However, the final lines of the song, "But my children said 'We are your stars, you will never be alone, we will never be alone inside your home'", highlights that the singer finds solace in their children despite feeling isolated due to the lack of success they faced. Here, the children are the singer's shining stars providing the support and love they need. The line "It's all the same, you sleep at night, calling out the animal, the animal inside of you", suggests that in their darkest moments when they feel disconnected, the singer is searching for a way to reconnect with their primal self or tapping into their inner animal to cope with their struggles.
