Jerome "Chef" McElroy is a former recurring character on the animated series South Park. Voiced by Isaac Hayes, Chef, as his nickname implied, worked as an elementary school cafeteria worker in the fictional town of South Park, Colorado. Generally portrayed as more level-headed than the other adult residents of the town, Chef's guidance was often sought by the show's core group of child protagonists – Stan Marsh, Kyle Broflovski, Eric Cartman, and Kenny McCormick – as he was usually the only adult they consistently trusted. To an inadvertent fault, he would frequently give inappropriate advice, usually in the non sequitur form of a lascivious soul song.
Chef was inspired by Hayes and other popular soul singers of the 1970s, as well as an actual dining hall worker encountered by series co-creator Trey Parker while he attended the University of Colorado. Chef played a less prominent role as the series progressed beyond its earlier seasons, and the character was killed off in the beginning of the tenth season in "The Return of Chef", in response to public controversy with Hayes, who left the show after the controversial episode "Trapped in the Closet", which satirized Scientology.

The first verse of Chef's song "Good Love" portrays him as a man with great confidence in his ability to satisfy any woman and willing to offer his services to anyone willing to have them. He brags about being "bone-ified, socilitified, and qualified" to do anything a woman might need, claiming that he can "turn [her] world upside-down" and "blow [her] mind to pieces". Chef even goes so far as to say that his work is so good that his clients will recommend him to their mothers, sisters, aunts, and nieces. The second verse continues his pitch by listing the fact that he has 30 years of experience and "loving sweet young girls". Chef encourages listeners to look him up in the yellow pages and dial his number, promising that they won't be disappointed.
The bridge continues with Chef's assurances that he is the "king of the woman's world" and has a reputation that precedes him in every town he visits. However, he also suggests that he hasn't found the right woman to share his skills with just yet. If his line is busy, Chef tells listeners to keep trying until they get through, promising that the effort will be worth it.
