1. Chela is an oriental disco musician from Melbourne, having emerged from the bleak, black backstreets of Armadale, Wadonga, Australia. Following a short but successful career in 10 pin bowling, Chela decided it was time for some stonking synth-pop infused smash hits. Chela collaborated with Ben Ely (Regurgitator) to produce 'Plastic Gun' and LeBruce for 'Full Moon'. Chela has also featured on Goldroom's summer anthem Fifteen and more recently Clubfeet's newest single Heartbreak.
2. Chela is the project of long-time friends and collaborators Ajay Saggar (Bhajan Bhoy) and Kohhei Matsuda (Bo Ningen). They released their début album, Diagonal Drift in August 2023. It comprises six minimal songs that weave darkly hypnotic melodies with drone-folk structures and crisp electronica on a cinematic bent.
