Out of control
Out of control
Sometimes I fell that I misunderstood
The rivers run and deep right through my thought
Your naked body lying on the ground
You always get me up when I'm down
And it always seems we're runnin' out of time,
We're out of control
Out of control
Out of control
Maybe I'm just scared of losin' you
Or maybe it's the things you make me do
It seems to me we both should hang around
And raise the population of this town
And it always seems we're runnin' out of time,
We're out of control
Out of control
We're out of control
Out of control
But it doesn't mean we're too far down the line
We're out of control
Out of control
The record player keeps on turning round
It could be stuck or maybe it's a sound
All the time I should be there with you
But maybe I'm just searchin' for the truth
Or maybe I'm just searchin' for the truth
And it always seems we're running out of time.
We're out of control
Out of control
We're out of control
Out of control
But it doesn't mean we're too far down the line
We're out of control
Out of control
We're out of control
Out of control
Could be that I'm just losing my touch
Or maybe you think my mustache is too much
Satellite is out of control
But you and I are brothers of the soul
And you and I will come in from the cold
Out of control, out of control
We're out of control
Out of control
The Chemical Brother's "Out of Control" is a song about losing control and being unable to resist temptation. The various lyrics convey themes of love, desire, and loss of self-control, all intermixed with references to technology and modernization. This juxtaposition of human emotion with technological advancements underscores the central message of the song - that in the ever-changing, technology-driven world, it can be easy to lose sight of what's important.
The song's opening lines ("Sometimes I feel that I misunderstood/The rivers run and deep right through my thought") create an image of confusion and uncertainty. The singer is grappling with his own thoughts and desires, unable to make sense of them or control them. He then references a lover - "Your naked body lying on the ground/You always get me up when I'm down" - suggesting that he finds solace in her physical presence but is still struggling to navigate his emotions.
The chorus - "We're out of control/Out of control/Out of control" - is a repeated phrase that captures the lack of control the singer feels. The bridge ("The record player keeps on turning round/It could be stuck or maybe it's a sound/All the time I should be there with you/But maybe I'm just searching for the truth") shows the singer's indecision and his inability to stay present in the moment. By the end of the song, there's a sense that the singer has come to terms with the idea that love can be chaotic and difficult to navigate ("Could be that I'm just losing my touch/Or maybe you think my mustache is too much/Satellite is out of control/But you and I are brothers of the soul/And you and I will come in from the cold").

Esta no es una simple canción fue un himno de fin de milenio para todos los que la escuchamos en aquel ya lejano 1999, encierra un mensaje, es mas que una canción, es una obra maestra
@Arc.hitectureMusic
this song means so much to me. As a musician it was my first introduction to analog synths, and got me into making music. It literally changed every preconception i had of music. 1999 was one hell of a year. every other year since hasnt compared to the creative output of that year, at least in my lifetime.

Put it upside down & backwards
@SyndicateOperative
Yeah, analogue synths blow my mind. It's a true art form.
@Arc.hitectureMusic
@@SyndicateOperative I was way over enthusiastic 13 years ago. I blame this track for getting into analog synths.

This is absolutely a contender for Best Music Video of All Time in my books. Excellent concept. Subjectively interpretable. Sidesteps expectations. Works with the music so well. Beautifully executed.
