Its In His Kiss
Cher/Meatloaf Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Does he love me I want to know
How can I tell if he loves me so
Is it in his eyes?
Oh no! You'll be deceived
Is it in his sighs?
Oh no! He'll make believe
If you want to know if he loves you so
It's in his kiss
That's where it is

Oh yeah
Or is it in his face?
Oh no! That's just his charms
In his warm embrace?
Oh no! That's just his arms
If you want to know if he loves you so
It's in his kiss
That's where it is
Whoa oh it's in his kiss
That's where it is

Whoa hug him and squeeze him tight
Find out what you want to know
If it's love, if it really is
It's there in his kiss

How about the way he acts
Oh no! That's not the way
And you're not listenin' to all I say
If you wanna know if he loves you so
It's in his kiss
That's where it is

Oh it's in his kiss
That's where it is

Whoa hug him and squeeze him tight
Find out what you want to know
If it's love, if it really is
It's there in his kiss

How about the way he acts
Oh no! That's not the way
And you're not listenin' to all I say
And if you wanna know if he loves you so
It's in his kiss
That's where it is

Oh whoa it's in his kiss
That's where it is

Oh yeah it's in his kiss
That's where it is
Ooh it's in his kiss
That's where it is
It's in his kiss
That's where it is
It's in his kiss
That's where it is
It's in his kiss
That's where it is
It's in his kiss
That's where it is
It's in his kiss
That's where it is

It's in his kiss
That's where it is

Overall Meaning

The song "It's In His Kiss" by Cher/Meatloaf is about a girl who is trying to determine if a guy truly loves her or not. She lists various ways she's tried to figure out if he loves her, such as looking into his eyes, but realizes that these methods can be deceptive. She then comes to the conclusion that the only way to know for sure is to pay attention to the way he kisses her; if it's a kiss of love, she'll feel it.

The song's chorus emphasizes that the feeling of love is expressed in a kiss. The verses, on the other hand, show how easy it is to be misled when trying to determine if someone loves you. The song's message is that actions speak louder than words; if someone truly loves you, it will be clear in their actions and how they treat you.

Overall, "It's In His Kiss" is a poppy, upbeat, and catchy song about the complexity of love and the difficulty of knowing whether or not someone truly loves you.

GREATEST PERFORMER EVVVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRR. I didn't know Meat and Jim existed until after Meat died this past January. I've heard Two out of Three Ain't Bad and Surf's Up in high school but I wasn't interested in 70s music. I listened to John Mellencamp but I think it was only one song then. I listened to Michael Jackson, and I do like. 3 songs from heart but that's all I liked then so I wasn't interested in 70s music. So I wasn't into 70s music. So I didn't bother to look up the singer and writer. I actually just assumed it was John

Meatloaf could perform most genres brilliantly, from heavy metal to opera. One of the best vocalists and performers ever.

@aussiebloke609

If only there had been a duet with Meat and Freddie Mercury. We can only imagine what that could have been like...but I suspect it would have been awesome.

@TheHunk348
