Lost
Cher Lloyd Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I heard from a friend of a friend
That you've been checking back in
'Cause I said goodbye, moved overnight
And you haven't heard much since then
Wondering how I'm doing now
It's none of your business first of all
Wondering how I'm doing now
But if you've got to know, well sure
Well sure

You think I'd be lost
Think I'd be lost without you, lost
Is it hard knowing you're wrong
See I got lots without you
Lots without you

Great sex in the morning
Sex in the morning
Someone to hold me
I got lots
Stay out in the nighttime
Out in the nighttime
Have me a wild time
I got lots

You heard from a friend of a friend
That I've been doing just fine, I
You don't want me
You just want me to keep wanting you
All of the time
But if you were wondering
It's none of your business first of all
Wondering how I'm doing now
But if you've got to know, well sure
Well sure

You think I'd be lost
Think I'd be lost without you, lost
Is it hard knowing you're wrong
See I got lots without you
Lots without you

Great sex in the morning
Sex in the morning
Someone to hold me
I got lots
Stay out in the nighttime
Out in the nighttime
Have me a wild time
I got lots

To be honest I think I dodged a bullet with you
And I don't know how I didn't see it coming but woo

Yea you got a God complex
And now I'm thanking God you're my ex
I hope you don't trip up on yourself

If you think you're so hot go back to hell
'Cause you think that I

You think I'd be lost
Think I'd be lost without you lost
Is it hard knowing you're wrong
See I got lots without you
Lots without you

Great sex in the morning
Sex in the morning
Someone to hold me
I got lots
Stay out in the nighttime
Out in the nighttime
Have me a wild time
I got lots

Overall Meaning

In the song "Lost" by Cher Lloyd, the singer addresses an ex-lover who has been trying to find out how she's been doing since she left. The lyrics express a sense of confidence and independence, as Cher explains that she doesn't need her ex to be happy. She also goes on to point out that her life is full of exciting experiences without him, including great sex and wild nights out.

The chorus of the song repeatedly emphasizes the fact that Cher doesn't need her ex to feel complete. She sings, "You think I'd be lost without you, lost. Is it hard knowing you're wrong? See I got lots without you, lots without you." This line makes it clear that Cher is satisfied with her life and doesn't feel a need to rely on her ex for happiness.

The lyrics also touch on the idea of the ex having a "God complex," which suggests that he was egotistical and thought of himself as superior in the relationship. Cher contrasts this by expressing her gratitude for having moved on from him and being able to live a fulfilling life apart from him.

Overall, the song can be interpreted as an anthem of independence and self-confidence. Cher encourages listeners to be proud of themselves and their accomplishments, without feeling like they need anyone else's approval or validation.

You are so damn talented. Pure raw talent! Just curious, have you ever considered popping off with a hip-hop single? What you do is great, I just feel like alot of your passion was in that in the beginning and you SLAYED it, and seemed like you had so much fun performing it!

I don’t get why people back in the day say, “I’m a fan of Cher Lloyd!” but, they all just left her. Only real fans would still be here for her.

Do you have a list of people registered or something?
People say a lot without really meaning it. Even if they did, they can still change over time right.
I mean I believed the same when I was a kid, but when I was getting older, I realised people talk the talk, but don't walk the walk.
Holding this against them will only make them bothered by you. You'll see. It's way better to focus on your won and don't really listen too much to regular people.
They always have opinions about everything and talk too much. I have learned to observe more and let go, what is not for me. Instead of fighting useless arguments.
