Miscellaneous
Lloyd has performed on T4 on the Beach. She has also performed at the Leeds Aire FM Party in the Park and Key 103 Live Manchester, both on the day of release of her debut single.
She had auditioned for The X Factor twice before (when the minimum age was lower) singing ballads but it was only after reinventing herself in 2010 that she got through to see the judges. Lloyd has previously performed at holiday camps and said she gets a mixed reaction to her music. She auditioned singing the Keri Hilson version of Turn My Swag On. At bootcamp she sang a rap version of Viva La Vida adding lyrics she claimed to have written herself, but this was disputed and reports claimed she took them from a song by rapper Swizz Beatz.
At the judges' houses she performed Cooler Than Me but suffered a throat infection and was unable to complete her song. She was given a second chance, but broke down sobbing and could not complete the song. Despite this, she was picked as one of the final three girls by mentor Cole. Lloyd sang a rendition of Just Be Good to Me in the first of the live shows. In the second live show she sang "Hard Knock Life (Ghetto Anthem)". In the fourth live show she sang "Stay" and did not rap for the first time. Cowell called the performance the best of the series. In the seventh week, Lloyd was in the bottom two for the first time after her rendition of "Imagine". Cowell, Cole and Walsh all saved her, resulting in Paije Richardson being eliminated.

Came in with an attitude, I'm bossy
I know that I'm keeping your attention
But I ain't tryna hook up with nobody
I took nine shots, I like the way they hit me
I'm in this club and everybody tipsy, yeah
I was gonna take it nice and steady
I, I'm
One drink away from saying what's on my mind
Only just a drink away from
Please don't touch me, just keep off me
Don't go asking for no favours
I've been nice for long enough but
Now I'm on my worst behavior
I'm
Only just a drink away from
I'm
Only just a drink away from
I cannot be bothered to be friendly
And why'd you keep on calling me your baby?
You ain't doing nothing to impress me
So now is not the time for you to test me
I took nine shots, I like the way thеy hit me
I'm in this club and everybody tipsy, yеah
I was gonna take it nice and steady
But now I feel like getting kinda messy
I, I'm
One drink away from saying what's on my mind
Only just a drink away from
Please don't touch me, just keep off me
Don't go asking for no favours
I've been nice for long enough but
Now I'm on my worst behavior
Please don't touch me, just keep off me
Don't go asking for no favours
I've been nice for long enough but
Now I'm on my worst behavior
I'm
Only just a drink away from
I'm
If you ask me, I'm gon' tell ya, tell ya
I'm not afraid of causing drama, drama
And I've already blocked your number
So you can find another sucker, sucker
I'm
Only just a drink away from
I'm
Only just a drink away from
Please don't touch me, just keep off me
Don't go asking for no favours
I'm
Only just a drink away from
The lyrics of Cher Lloyd's song "One Drink Away" explore the singer's mindset and intentions while attending a party. From the beginning, she asserts her confidence and assertiveness, stating that she arrived at the party with an attitude and a bossy demeanor. Despite grabbing everyone's attention, she clarifies that she is not interested in hooking up with anyone.
As the song progresses, the singer reveals that she has consumed nine shots and is feeling the effects of the alcohol. The atmosphere of the club is described as everyone being tipsy, which starts to affect her initially planned calm and steady approach. She experiences a shift in her mindset and feels a desire to get a little messy. This change in attitude and inhibition is emphasized by the repetition of being one drink away from saying what's on her mind.
The second verse continues the theme of the singer distancing herself from others. She does not want to be touched or bothered, showing a lack of interest in being friendly or engaging with others. The mention of someone calling her "baby" suggests a potential romantic interest, but she dismisses their attempts to impress her, highlighting the timing as inappropriate for any tests or challenges.
In the chorus, the singer reiterates being one drink away from speaking her mind. She expresses a weariness of being nice and accommodating for too long, transitioning to her worst behavior. The repetition of this phrase adds emphasis to the idea that the consumption of alcohol is pushing her towards speaking her truth without inhibition.
The bridge of the song presents the singer's perspective with even more assertiveness and boldness. She states that if asked, she will divulge her true thoughts or cause drama without fear. The blocking of someone's number suggests a break in a relationship or an end to unwanted communication. The closing lines reinforce that she is only one drink away from expressing herself authentically.
Overall, "One Drink Away" showcases a transformation in the singer's mindset and behavior as a result of alcohol consumption. It portrays her as someone who is confident, unapologetic, and unafraid to speak her mind when under the influence.

She's doing everything right. She's keeping up with how pop music is evolving with the very catchy chorus. It's the public ignoring her. We need this song to go to tiktok so people will notice her
