2. CHERUBS (Medway, United Kingdom) - The band came together December 2003. Debut single "Hey Bunny" was out October 2004, second single was the non-album track "Club Hoola Hoop's Walls" out February 2005. Their debut album "Uncovered by Heartbeat" (2005)
was a passionate and intricate album of taught rhythms that had outgrown the Rapture comparisons of their 'Hey Bunny' debut. Trademark twin guitars alternately jangle and then crunch in classic Ranaldo/Moore Sonic Youth style while Staale's vocals are always darkly soulful/soul-less in the classic UK indie stylings of Morrissey, McCulloch or Curtis. Single "A Man of no Importance" is another non-album track, and was out August 2005 on CD single and ltd. edition 7". It was produced by Mercury Prize nominee producer Gareth Parton (Ikara Colt, The Go! Team, The Killers, The Futureheads). The "Paper Cut Moon" EP was the only release in 2006.

My best friend passed away 3 days ago. This was his favorite song, and eventually became both of ours. We would jam to this on our random midnight car rides. We made a promise to each other that if we're single by the time we're 30, we would get married to each other. Ultimately, I actually thought it was going to happen. I’m so sorry for your loss, I have a connection to this song too, My tio showed this song to me a couple of years ago, i think i was going to the 7th grade, We both really liked it, on road trips he would play it bc he knew i liked it, I’m going to the 10th grade and Now he’s an addict, started with pills long ago, nows he on moved on to ice, Just got out of rehab, he was clean, i was proud of him, my dad just told me he’s back on the pills, again i’m sorry for you loss, i just wanted to share bc this song brings back memories, like how yours does for you, hopefully my tio makes it out and gets clean, but hopefully i don’t listen to this song in the future after something happens and he passed, Hold On my friend, it’s all going to be okay, Everything will be okay and you are going to be okay, i hope my tio will, i hope i don’t follow in his footsteps, i’ll try not to, Stay Safe Buddy
