Love Made Me Do It
Cheryl Lyrics

I've took the fast lane all of my life
I've been a bad girl, I've been the good wife
I don't stop to think, when I go in, I go in
I've fallen hard like a million times
On number seven of my nine lives
The ink on my skin, is all the places I've been

Oh my God (oh my God), I'm such a sucker (I'm such a sucker)
I fall in love (I fall in love) with every fucker (mm hmm)
But oh no, I won't apologize
Nah, 'cause I'm

Breaking all my rules
But love made me do it
Shoulda used my head
'Cause my heart really blew it
Love made me do it (it wasn't my fault)
Love made me do it (it wasn't my fault)
And now I'm
Losing all my cool
But love made me do it
Shoulda used my head
'Cause my heart really blew it
Love made me do it (it wasn't my fault)
Love made me do it
And I'd do it again

Yeah, yeah, yeah (yeah, yeah, yeah)
Yeah, yeah, yeah (yeah, yeah, yeah)
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Love made me do it and I'd do it again

I did my time on the yellow brick road
I saw some shit that'd make your head explode
Had to do what I do, just to get me to you
And all my friends are like, "Whoa, girl stop"
'Cause they're the ones who pick the pieces up
It's bad for my health but I just can't help myself

Oh my God (oh my God), I'm such a sucker (I'm such a sucker)
I fall in love (I fall in love) with every fucker (mm hmm)
But oh no, I won't apologize
Nah, 'cause I'm

Breaking all my rules
But love made me do it
Shoulda used my head
'Cause my heart really blew it
Love made me do it (it wasn't my fault)
Love made me do it (it wasn't my fault)
And now I'm
Losing all my cool
But love made me do it
Shoulda used my head
'Cause my heart really blew it
Love made me do it (it wasn't my fault)
Love made me do it
And I'd do it again

Yeah, yeah, yeah (yeah, yeah, yeah)
Yeah, yeah, yeah (yeah, yeah, yeah)
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Love made me do it and I'd do it again

I'm not gonna justify
Why I wanna change my mind
'Cause I'm a lover, not a hater
Sure as hell won't take no blame for my behaviour
No, I'm not gonna justify
Why I wanna change my mind
'Cause I'm a lover, not a hater
Sure as hell won't take no blame for my behaviour

Breaking all my rules
But love made me do it
Shoulda used my head
'Cause my heart really blew it
Love made me do it (it wasn't my fault)
Love made me do it (it wasn't my fault)
And now I'm
Losing all my cool
But love made me do it
Shoulda used my head
'Cause my heart really blew it
Love made me do it (it wasn't my fault)
Love made me do it
And I'd do it again

Yeah, yeah, yeah (yeah, yeah, yeah)
Yeah, yeah, yeah (yeah, yeah, yeah)

Yeah, yeah, yeah
Love made me do it and I'd do it again

Overall Meaning

In Cheryl's song "Love Made Me Do It," she sings about her past experiences with love and relationships. The lyrics start with her admitting that she has always taken the fast lane in life, and has been both a bad girl and a good wife. She doesn't think before she jumps into relationships and has fallen in love hard, and often. She describes her past experiences with relationships, saying that she has already had seven lives and that the ink on her skin represents all the places she has been. Despite her previous experiences, she finds herself falling in love with every "fucker" she meets but doesn't apologize for it.

Cheryl then talks about how she has had to do what she does just to get to where she is now, and all her friends tell her to stop because they are the ones who have to pick up the pieces. She repeats that "love made me do it" and admits to breaking all her rules because of it. Cheryl also acknowledges that she should have used her head instead of her heart, but she would still do it all over again. The song ends with her reiterating that she's not going to justify why she wants to change her mind because she's a lover, not a hater, and won't take any blame for her behavior.

This song is a catchy and upbeat pop track, but the lyrics have a much deeper meaning. Cheryl is speaking about her past experiences, acknowledging the mistakes she made, but also not apologizing for them. The song is about the power of love and how it can make us do things we may not normally do. It's also a declaration of self-love, as Cheryl accepts her past mistakes and embraces the fact that she's a lover, not a hater. Overall, "Love Made Me Do It," is a relatable song about love, relationships, and the mistakes we make along the way.

so true. it's great.

@tylerkochman1007

There are nine songwriters. Pretty sure it's also reflective of Kylie Minogue, Natasha Bedingfield, and Nicola Roberts' journeys too.

They just each probably didn't feel the song melded well enough to record it, and passed it on to others. And I think they each made the right call.

@246721

she is absolutely the worst of the girls aloud, she cannot sing at all, this record is crap, the best singer with a fantastic tone and can sing anything, is Nicola, they would of had more number 1's if she had taken the lead. You only think this is good because you think it sounds good, take away all the toughing up and the auto tune and its back to her voice, crap, Cheryl is tone deaf, what the hell has she done to her face, she looks 20 years older, she was always pretty, but not in this video. Open your ears to her singing live, she just cannot do it, crap.

@heatherfrye2687

Feel like beat stinks it should be more fast. More like pow pow boom w some bass and quite frankly i think the songs lyrics could be reworked a tweak here and there. It should sound more joan jett crossed w morrisette
