Silent Night, a recording of Christmas music, was recorded with Christopher Mason in New Orleans in 1986 and released in 1987.

Heroin and cocaine were found in his hotel room, and an autopsy also found these drugs in his body. There was no evidence of a struggle, and the death was ruled an accident. A plaque outside the hotel memorializes him and the room he was staying in, No. 210, is named "The Chet Baker Room".

The Fish Minimalist
I'm an amateur writer and I wrote something about the Jazz ages. Chet Baker is simply in my playlist whenever I wrote my chapters. It was beyond perfect, the fictional characters are even in awe. I made them dance and express themselves through the jazz, and it's just really a perfect fit.

I’ve only just heard this song for the first time today. It’s as if he’s been reading my mind.
I guess at 54 now I’m destined to be alone. Which is okay.
My ideal doesn’t exist which is probably the whole point of the song.
I can go home tonight, pour myself a drink and listen to Chet to my heart’s content.

A week or so after writing this I met ‘my ideal’. He’s stroking my shoulder as I write this. Kind and gentle, strong and sweet. More than I could have imagined. Still can’t quite believe it. He just appeared out of nowhere. A chance conversation. So happy.
