Jet Lag
Chi Coltrane Lyrics

I'm so tired that I don't even know where I've been
I just keep on movin', the ground never touches my feet
'Cause I feel it comin', it's tryin' to catch up on me
Jet lag, bringin' me down, I feel it
Jet lag, breakin' through sound, I hear it
Jet lag, bringin' me down with the blues
Jet lag, hittin' the ground, I feel it
Jet lag, bringin' me down to my shoes with the blues
Oooh, I feel sad, I feel bad, I feel blue
And I know it's a phase that I'm just going through
I just don't know when I'll ever get off of this plane
'Cause if I Stop movin', I know it'll hit me again
Jet lag, bringin' me down, I feel it
Jet lag, breakin' through sound, I hear it
Jet lag, bringin' me down with the blues
Jet lag, bringin' me down, feel it
Jet lag, hittin' the ground, feel it
Jet lag, bringin' me down to my shoes with the blues
Ooh, I feel sad, I feel bad, I feel blue
And I know it's a phase that I'm just going through
I just keep on movin', the ground never touches my feet
'Cause if I Stop movin', I know it'll catch up on me
Jet lag, bringin' me down, I feel it
Jet lag, breakin' through sound, I hear it
Jet lag, bringin' me down with the blues
Jet lag, bringin' me down, I feel it
Jet lag, breakin' through sound, I hear it
Jet lag, bringin' me down to my shoes with the blues
The song Jet Lag by Chi Coltrane is a reflective piece about the universal experience of travel induced exhaustion. The lyrics describe the feeling of constant movement, a never-ending journey from one place to another. The singer laments about feeling tired, both physically and emotionally, and not even knowing where she’s been anymore. The lyrics convey a sense of being overwhelmed, as if unable to slow down and catch one’s breath.
The chorus takes on the metaphor of jet lag, comparing the feeling of being constantly on the move to the disorienting effects of changing time zones. The singer feels like the jet lag is “bringing her down,” affecting her mood and emotional state. The repetition of “I feel it” underscores the idea that the jet lag is an affliction, a constant burden that she must bear.
The final verse emphasizes the need to keep moving, as stopping means giving in to the exhaustion. The singer has accepted that this is her reality for the time being, that the jet lag will catch up with her eventually, but for now, she’s determined to keep going.
