Chicago Lyrics

Chicago, Chicago, I'll show you around (you'll stay around)
Bet your bottom dollar you lose the blues in
Chicago, Chicago, the folks who visit
All want to settle down (all want to settle down in my hometown)
On state street, that great street, I just want to say,
They do things they don't do on Broadway,
Bring all your friends, all your kids and your wife to
Chicago, Chicago my hometown. (Hey now baby)
(Oh baby)
You'll have the time, the time of your life
Bring all your friends, all your kids and your wife to
Chicago, Chicago my hometown
Oh, to Chicago, Chicago my hometown (yeah)
The lyrics of Chicago's song "Chicago" are a tribute to the city of Chicago and its imposing State Street. The song's upbeat tempo is meant to convey the vivacity of the city and is likely inspired by the city's jazz and blues scene.
The opening lyrics, "Chicago, Chicago, that toddlin' town," are a nod to the city's bustling nightlife culture. The singer invites the listener to experience the city and promises that they will "lose the blues." The phrase "the folks who visit all want to settle down" highlights the city's appeal, suggesting that those who come to Chicago never want to leave.
The second verse focuses on the energy of the city, emphasizing that the events and activities that occur on State Street are unlike any other. The singer advises listeners to bring everyone they know to experience the thrill of the city. The repetition of the phrase "Chicago, Chicago, my hometown" reinforces the singer's love and pride for the city.
Overall, the song is a cheerful, loving tribute to the city of Chicago and is meant to encourage listeners to visit and explore the city themselves.

Yey thanks Man! Even too many Chicagoans aren't appreciative enough, they even over look that huge and dangerous inland sea that's out there...! And if I mention the winter sports .. hockey, surfing yes surfing, skiing yes skiing snowboarding, ice fishing, on and on, the massive miles and miles of sand dunes near by....by sea to the Atlantic Ocean or Gulf and back. Yes we take for granted. The Hugh economy etc..food, culture,...from rural farmland to international city. Loved your comment too! Loved that song!
