Chiddy Bang formed when Anamege and Beresin met at Drexel University in 2008. After months of support from underground music blogs, the pair released their debut mixtape The Swelly Express via blog Pretty Much Amazing. The release was met with widespread acclaim and led to the group signing a recording contract with EMI in January 2010.
Their first commercial single on the label taken from their The Swelly Express mixtape, Opposite of Adults, samples the Brooklyn group MGMT's 'Kids' and was released on February 21, 2010 in the UK. It reached number 12 on the UK Singles Chart and later peaked at 90 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US. A second single from the mixtape titled Truth was released in the UK and peaked at number 50. Following this success, Chiddy Bang released a second mixtape exclusively within the UK featuring remixes and adaptations of popular British artists including tinie tempah, ellie goulding and kate nash.
In October 2010 the pair released Chiddy Bang: The Preview - an EP consisting of previous singles and new material - serving as a prelude to their debut album scheduled for release in Spring 2011.
The Mind Your Manners Songfacts states that Chidera "Chiddy" Anamege broke the world record for the longest freestyle on April 28, 2011. His freestyle lasted 9 hours, 18 minutes, and 22 seconds, supported by looped beats played by Xaphoon, beating the previous longest time by three minutes.
All Things Go

All things go, all things go (uh)
To recreate us
All things go, all things go
We had our minds set (yeah)
All things go, all things go (uh)
You had to find it (uh)
All things go, all things go
It started off with a rhyme and a dream
Made it the greatest and the latest
Now we fresh on the scene
Got the sample for the kids
Won't you ever grow up?
Went to Drexel and had classes, but I never showed up
I was writin' all day 'til my hands would hurt
Professors didn't appreciate it, called me a jerk
New boy needed to learn, but I never would
Pay attention in school is something that I never could, uh
And know with a beat, gotta be steaming
And we could work wonders over logic and reason
We on the hype now, they call it a buzz
And how we get the party popping, Baltimore club, uh
MySpace they could replay next
And you gotta have Xaph for the D.J. set
No matter how they ever play us, they can never replace us
And any way you slice it now, homie, they came to take us
You came to take us (yeah)
All things go, all things go (uh)
To recreate us (hey yo Xaphoon, we back son!)
All things go, all things go (we did it!)
We had our minds set (yeah)
All things go, all things go (uh)
You had to find it (uh)
All things go, all things go
Say hello to the game
The people know my name
And do they really love us, or is this just a fling?
And we be Peter Parker in love with the Mary Jane
So many people gone, so many people came, eh
This that brand new spontaneous
Dope flow, intraveneous
Miscellaneous grinding
Better late than never, I'm calling it perfect timing
But we goin' have a little bit of fun
'Cause when it's all done
You throw your sneaks up and call it a good run
I admit, that I would never rather them burn me
I don't know where I'm headed, but I know it's a journey
And my bags is packed, so can you hand me my itinerary?
I get attention like a soldier in the military
This is what you gotta notice today
We promise to make sure they never throw us away
You came to take us (yeah)
All things go, all things go (uh)
To recreate us (uh)
All things go, all things go
We had our minds set (yeah)
All things go, all things go (uh)
You had to find it
All things go, all things go
You came to take us
All things go, all things go
To recreate us
All things go, all things go
We had our minds set
All things go, all things go
You had to find it
All things go, all things go
The song "All Things Go" by Chiddy Bang tells a story of the journey of the band to success. The chorus, "You came to take us, all things go, all things go, to recreate us, all things go, all things go," represents the journey of the band and the changes they underwent to get where they are. The line "We had our minds set, you had to find it" represents their determination to succeed and the struggles they went through to make it happen. The rapper talks about his experience in school where he would write all day and not attend classes. He mentions how his professors did not appreciate his writing and called him a jerk. However, he did not let the negativity surrounding his passion stop him; he continued to follow his dreams and turned them into reality.
The second verse of the song highlights the experiences of the band members as they continued their journey. They gained popularity and a "buzz," and people started to take notice of them. Some people loved them, and some thought it was just a fling. The lyrics "We be Peter Parker in love with the Mary Jane, so many people gone, so many people came" symbolize their dedication to their craft, with 'Peter Parker' referring to not giving up on what you love (reference to Spiderman). The song's message is to never give up on your dreams, no matter how many roadblocks you may encounter. Push through and keep going through your journey, for everything is terminal.

I remember listening to this song when I was 14 years old and got my first crush. Beautiful memories. Parents were really speaking truth when they said childhood and teenager years are the best in our lives. ⚡️

I am unendingly amazed that Chiddy Bang sampled an already amazing song (Chicago - Sufjan Stevens) and despite the fact that it is transposed and reformatted to the BPMs fit for a hip hop song, it is STILL groundbreaking and captivating. I applaud Chiddy Bang and whether or not you like their music, you still gotta admit that this is how one should correctly sample a song.

+Kathryn Schmidt Xaphoon Jones was Chidera's producer. He is a seriously amazing DJ and producer. Look up his remix to "Heard it through the grapevine" ...Amazing!
