Chiddy Bang formed when Anamege and Beresin met at Drexel University in 2008. After months of support from underground music blogs, the pair released their debut mixtape The Swelly Express via blog Pretty Much Amazing. The release was met with widespread acclaim and led to the group signing a recording contract with EMI in January 2010.
Their first commercial single on the label taken from their The Swelly Express mixtape, Opposite of Adults, samples the Brooklyn group MGMT's 'Kids' and was released on February 21, 2010 in the UK. It reached number 12 on the UK Singles Chart and later peaked at 90 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US. A second single from the mixtape titled Truth was released in the UK and peaked at number 50. Following this success, Chiddy Bang released a second mixtape exclusively within the UK featuring remixes and adaptations of popular British artists including tinie tempah, ellie goulding and kate nash.
In October 2010 the pair released Chiddy Bang: The Preview - an EP consisting of previous singles and new material - serving as a prelude to their debut album scheduled for release in Spring 2011.
The Mind Your Manners Songfacts states that Chidera "Chiddy" Anamege broke the world record for the longest freestyle on April 28, 2011. His freestyle lasted 9 hours, 18 minutes, and 22 seconds, supported by looped beats played by Xaphoon, beating the previous longest time by three minutes.

All life I've dreamed a Dream, somehow connected with a Silver Screen
And yeah Im back on the scene
Making with a dream them haters they gonna scheme like
Silver Screen thats all I ever dreamt of
and the day I lose, that'll be the end of
my journey, tryina focus on ambition cause other successes do not concern me
Im in in it rappers they say we can win attorney
now I'm drowning in the page
they don't understand me, they say im hard to gauge
still blowin up, take the pin off the grenade
you're frivolous im Nicolas rather me in the Cage
NEVER, these rappers gonna stay in trouble
get the US Open like we playin doubles
Hustle for the prettiest green, make sure you're wide a wake in the city of dreams
All life I dreamed a Dream, somehow connected with a Silver Screen
All life I dreamed a Dream, somehow connected with a Silver Screen
And this is my soundtrack
takin off, no plane, you can't ground that
I'm high grade like smokers that don't do regs
Life's a movie better hope it ain't a bootleg
Stay focused, don't rigamarole,
Responsibility you gotta feed the fish in the bowl
uh, play it humble, really though I seen Rash
Don't I take the people back like a Dreamcast
play the role, get the scene cast
and tomorrow's always brighter with the green hash
and I'm 20 below, couldn't make it to the awards swisher comin from joe
they feel it but can't repeat it so they hummin the flow
I'm up-tempo, might as well be drummin the show
uh, and I'm blazin it right
think you swift, well I'm Yeezy and I'm taking the mic
Yeah
All life I dreamed a Dream, somehow connected with a Silver Screen
All life I dreamed a Dream, somehow connected with a Silver Screen
In Chiddy Bang's song "Silver Screen", the lyrics describe the rapper's lifetime dream of being connected with Hollywood's "Silver Screen". The song starts off by stating that from birth, the rapper has had a recurring dream of being part of a movie, of somehow being connected with the film industry. Chiddy Bang raps about pursuing this dream, with a focus on ambition, ignoring other successes that do not contribute towards this specific goal. He acknowledges the obstacles, the scheming haters, and the critics and how they question his ability to deliver or excel in his craft. Nevertheless, he remains unshaken and continues to pursue his life dream. The chorus repeats this idea - this dream of being connected with a silver screen being something that he has always wanted and something that he is still actively pursuing.
In the second verse, the lyrics mention that this song is his "soundtrack" to his dreams. Through this song, he talks about chasing his dreams, taking off and not looking back. Chiddy Bang maintains that he remains focused and is responsible, equating the pursuit of his dream with the responsibility of taking care of fish in a bowl. He talks about the importance of staying humble and not being swayed by his own success. The verse ends with a comparison to a "Dreamcast", a video game console from the late 1990s, and the possibility of taking people on a journey back to old-school video games.
Overall, "Silver Screen" is a song that deals with the rapper's dreams and aspirations of becoming part of Hollywood and fulfilling his lifelong desire of being connected with the Silver Screen.
