Cozart attended Dulles Elementary School and later Banner High School on Chicago's South Side, which is where he got his career start. In December 2011, he was arrested on a weapons charge (aggravated unlawful use of a weapon) and put under house arrest at his grandmother's home. While under house arrest, Cozart posted several videos to his YouTube account. The attention he received grew in the short time between the release of several mixtapes and several music videos, including "Bang," "3Hunna," and "I Don't Like." After two locally successful mixtapes, "I Don't Like" became a local hit in Chicago. It also caught fellow Chicago rapper Kanye West's attention, and West organized a remix of the song along with rappers Pusha T, Jadakiss, and Big Sean. On July 7, 2012, it was announced that Chief Keef would be performing at the 2012 Lollapalooza music festival.
In the following years, Keef has served up a continuous stream of releases, such as Back From the Dead 2 (2014), Bang 3 (2015), and Thot Breaker (2017). Critics have cited Chief Keef as a major influence on contemporary hip hop through his impact on artists such as Lil Uzi Vert, 21 Savage, Tupac and various collaborations.

I'm bout to spend this guap
I'm bout to send some shots
I think I seen a opp
I think I seen the cops
Played that shit already
Smoke straight for breakfast
Flexin' get justice
But they know I'm high
Already fed too much food in my Bentley
It's already got one, I seen it, I get it
She already askin' me one hundred and one questions
She already gave me top, I'm gone, no second guessin'
They already gave me guap, I ain't goin' back flatline
They already gave me love, I ain't goin' for less now
I already sprayed my Glock, I ain't gettin finessed man
I already played these cops, they ain't finding my weapons
Already, already, they call ready, already
She gon' give me top, guess what, my balls ready
Already, and I got a ball so yes I'm ball ready
Already, I'm ball til I fall, I guess I'm fall ready
Already
This bitch give me top, already
I'm bout to spend this guap
I'm bout to send some shots
I think I seen a opp
I think I seen the cops
Played that shit already
Smoke straight for breakfast
Flexin' get justice
Cops tryna breathalyze
But they know I'm high
The lyrics to Chief Keef's song Already seem to glorify a life of money, guns, and drugs. The song begins with Chief Keef expressing his satisfaction with a girl giving him oral sex, which he views as ready and expected. He then boasts about spending his money, sending shots to his enemies, and avoiding the cops. Throughout the song, he repeats the word "already," implying that he has already achieved everything he wants, including wealth and respect.
The lyrics also reference Chief Keef's lifestyle, where he eats breakfast while smoking marijuana and flexing his wealth. He implies that even when the cops try to test him, he knows he's high and therefore cannot be easily caught. He also mentions having a weapon, which he has already used, making it harder for the police to find it. The song ends with Chief Keef saying he is already ready for anything life can throw his way.
Overall, the lyrics to Already showcase Chief Keef's confidence and arrogance, which he bases on his wealth and criminal behavior. He seems to revel in his ability to get whatever he wants, whether it's drugs, guns, or women. The lyrics also reveal a sense of paranoia and fear, as he notes that he thinks he has seen the cops and his enemies, and he must prepare himself for any eventuality.
