Cozart attended Dulles Elementary School and later Banner High School on Chicago's South Side, which is where he got his career start. In December 2011, he was arrested on a weapons charge (aggravated unlawful use of a weapon) and put under house arrest at his grandmother's home. While under house arrest, Cozart posted several videos to his YouTube account. The attention he received grew in the short time between the release of several mixtapes and several music videos, including "Bang," "3Hunna," and "I Don't Like." After two locally successful mixtapes, "I Don't Like" became a local hit in Chicago. It also caught fellow Chicago rapper Kanye West's attention, and West organized a remix of the song along with rappers Pusha T, Jadakiss, and Big Sean. On July 7, 2012, it was announced that Chief Keef would be performing at the 2012 Lollapalooza music festival.
In the following years, Keef has served up a continuous stream of releases, such as Back From the Dead 2 (2014), Bang 3 (2015), and Thot Breaker (2017). Critics have cited Chief Keef as a major influence on contemporary hip hop through his impact on artists such as Lil Uzi Vert, 21 Savage, Tupac and various collaborations.

Draggin-Draggin' to the floor
T-T-T-Tip
Draggin-Draggin' to the floor
Tip-toeing through the jewelry store
Christian Dior mink draggin' to the floor
I don't really care about money anymore
Tip-toeing through the jewelry store
Christian Dior mink draggin' to the floor
I don't really care about money anymore
Pay me in jewels while I'm pouring up a four
I-I-I been blessed today
No girlfriend, no stress today
Never was a child, so I never got to play
You know crime pays, no minimum wage
It's closing time
Fishscale froze on my charm, Moonshine
Midnight falls in the cold moonlight
Crashing for a good night
Diamonds drippin' out the gym
While I'm watching my Huskies swim
Can't imagine life any other way
Dale Dan Tony on a razor blade
Tip-toeing through the jewelry store
Christian Dior mink draggin' to the floor
I don't really care about money anymore
Pay me in jewels while I'm pouring up a four
Tip-toeing through the jewelry store
Christian Dior mink draggin' to the floor
I don't really care about money anymore
Pay me in jewels while I'm pouring up a four
Tip-toeing to the jewelry store
I don't really care about nothin' anymore
Grandma said I grew up, I ain't stubborn anymore
I think that ho mad 'cause we ain't fuckin' anymore
Tip-toeing to the Gucci store
Pussy, why you lookin' at my jewelry for?
That's that shit that I might get a jury for
You tuckin' your shit, why you buy that jewelry for? (Oh-oh)
Tip-tip-toeing on the marble floors
Thug life, feelin' like 2Pac Shakur
We was tip-toeing on your block, lil' boy
No James Harden, on my wrist a block, lil' boy
Tip-toeing through the jewelry store
Christian Dior mink draggin' to the floor
I don't really care about money anymore
Pay me in jewels while I'm pouring up a four
Tip-toeing through the jewelry store
Christian Dior mink draggin' to the floor
I don't really care about money anymore
Pay me in jewels while I'm pouring up a four
The song "TiP TOE 3" by Chief Keef portrays the lavish lifestyle of the artist. The lyrics speak about tip-toeing through jewelry and Gucci stores, flaunting expensive items such as a Christian Dior mink that he drags across the floor. The artist also mentions his indifference towards money, saying he would rather be paid in jewels while he drinks a four. The line "I been blessed today" suggests a newfound appreciation for life, perhaps as a result of his successful music career.
The lyrics showcase a self-assured and confident attitude with references to 2Pac and the criminal underworld. The repetition of the line "T-T-T-Tip" combined with "draggin' to the floor" creates an energetic and playful refrain, keeping the listener engaged. The inclusion of a woman or "ho" who is angry with Keef because they are no longer having sex adds a sexual dimension to the song, which Keef navigates with ease.
