Their indie debut, a 6-track EP titled Places I Don't Want To Go, was self-released in 2004.
After a few years of trying, they finally won the music tournament at Club 3 Degrees, a premiere Christian music club in Minneapolis, in may of 2005. Almost a year later, in March of 2006, they self-released Songs of Desperation, an 8 track EP, featuring the fan favorite "The Cowboy Song."
In early 2007 the band announced that they had signed with the Christian record label Tooth & Nail Records. The band released their first full length CD, which was self-titled, in February of 2008, under the T&N label. Three songs from "Songs of Desperation," as well as a couple crowd favorites we recorded onto this album.
They have since released two more albums with Tooth & Nail Records:
"Rain's 'A Comin'"; in 2010
"On The Run", in 2012

STRONGER
Children 18:3 Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The ship was all but grounded here waiting to begin
There's a trick to understanding what it is you couldn't see
And a map without a compass is impossible to read
Lights out, a pillowcase to cry on
A good friend to rely on for a prayer
Oh please be careful my brother
Oh, it can only make me stronger
Cast the weight away
Oh, stronger and stronger
Sail away, away
The pathway to the future is always straight ahead
So I took off in that direction just to see where it led
The weather's nice in Florida when you come from the midwest
But pretty soon it turned to desert and it's sure been a test
Take heart behind the bathroom door
A good shoulder to cry on unaware
But don't forget that a kick in the face is for some daily fare
It's struggle that I can't escape
But it's something I can run to
The song "Stronger" by Children 18:3 tells the story of a person who was caught in the middle of a difficult situation, feeling stuck and unable to move forward. The ship is all but grounded, waiting for the tide to come in, while the person is trying to find a way to understand what they cannot see. The lyrics suggest that without a clear direction or a compass, it's impossible to navigate the rough waters of life. Once they realize that, they turn to a friend who provides comfort and support, but warns them to be careful, as the fight ahead will never be fair. The song creates an image of the person taking off in a direction, not knowing where it may lead, but determined to move forward, despite the tough obstacles they face. Even though the struggle seems never-ending, the singer believes that it's something they can run to and that it can make them stronger.
The lyrics are relatable to anyone who has felt stuck in a situation that feels impossible to overcome. The message is one of resilience and hope, encouraging individuals to push through their struggles to become stronger. The metaphors of the sandbar, ship, and compass illustrate the difficulty of navigating life without proper guidance, and the chorus emphasizes the idea that facing the struggle head-on will ultimately make us stronger.
