Calling out to lost boys and girls
I'm gettin' tired of the disrespect
We won't stop 'til we rule the world
It's our time, we up next (next, next)
Our sail's about to be set (set, set)
They ain't seen nothing yet
Tell 'em who's in charge so they don't forget
What's my name? What's my name? (Uma)
Say it louder
What's my name? What's my name? (Uma)
Feel the power
No one's gonna stop us soon the world will be ours
What's my name? What's my name?
What's it? What's it? Say it, say it loud
(Uma, Uma)
All eyes on me, let me see 'em (Uma, Uma)
What's it? What's it? Say it, say it
(Uma, ah ah)
(Uma, Uma, la la Um-)
(Uma, Uma, la la Uma)
(Uma, Uma, la la Um-)
(Uma, Uma, la la Um-)
Uma
I'm the queen of this town
I call the shots, you know who I am
I don't need to wear no fake crown
Stand up to me, you don't stand a chance
It's our time, we up next (next, next)
My crew's as real as it gets (gets, gets)
The worst are now the best
And leaving us here will be their last regret
What's my name? What's my name? (Uma)
Say it louder
What's my name? What's my name? (Uma)
Feel the power (whoa)
No one's gonna stop us, soon the world will be ours (yeah)
What's my name? What's my name?
What's it? What's it? Say it, say it
You know what they say, bad girls have all the fun
Never learned how to count 'cause I'm number one
Ready here, we come, we always get our way
It's a pirate's life, every single day (hey)
She's the captain, I'm the first mate
Enemies seasick, can't see straight
Call 'em fish bait, throw 'em on a hook
Uma's so hot they get burned if they look (ah)
It's all eyes on me, let me see 'em
I see your eyes on me boys, hey
You know what my name is
Say it, say it louder
Hook me (ha, ha)
Ho, whoa
Come on
What's my name? What's my name? (Uma)
Say it louder (hey)
What's my name? What's my name? (Uma)
Feel the power (ooh whoa-ooh)
No one's gonna stop us, soon the world will be ours (no one's gonna stop us, no, no-no)
What's my name? What's my name?
What's it? What's it? Say it, say it
(Uma, Uma)
All eyes on me, let me see 'em (Uma)
What's it? What's it? Say it, say it (Uma)
Ooh, say it louder (Uma, Uma)
Ooh, say it louder (Uma, Uma)
What's it? What's it? Say it, say it
(Uma, Uma, la la Um-)
(Uma, Uma, la la Uma)
(Uma, Uma, la la Um-)

The song "What's My Name?" by China Anne McClain, Dylan Playfair, and Thomas Doherty is from the movie Descendants 2. In these lyrics, the character Uma, played by China Anne McClain, is asserting her power and dominance. The song is essentially an anthem for Uma and her crew, as they rise to rule the world.
The opening lines, "This is all hands on deck, calling out to lost boys and girls" suggest that Uma is gathering her crew and issuing a call to those who feel lost or disrespected. She is tired of being disrespected and wants to make a mark in the world. The following lines, "We won't stop 'til we rule the world, it's our time, we up next," further emphasize Uma's determination and ambition to take control.
Uma repeatedly asks, "What's my name?" as a way of asserting her identity and making sure no one forgets who she is. This showcases her confidence and power. The line "No one's gonna stop us, soon the world will be ours" reinforces Uma's belief in her own abilities and her crew's potential for success.
The chorus also highlights Uma's demand for recognition and respect, as she urges others to say her name louder. This reflects her desire to be recognized as a force to be reckoned with. The mention of being the queen and not needing a fake crown alludes to Uma's confidence in her own abilities and her refusal to conform to society's expectations.
The second verse introduces Uma as the captain and highlights her strong leadership qualities. She is depicted as fearless and unapologetic, with her crew being portrayed as loyal and formidable. The line "Uma's so hot they get burned if they look" further showcases her self-assuredness.
Overall, "What's My Name?" is a powerful anthem that celebrates Uma's strength, ambition, and determination to rise to power. The lyrics capture her confidence, demand for recognition, and her belief in her crew's abilities as they strive to rule the world.

What if I said my dad was a drummer in this band
@nunyabidness1964
I’d say your dad is a great drummer. I was sitting in the basement with Jon when this song was nothing but scribbles on a piece of paper. One of my favorite songs of all time. Per chance I discovered 15 years later this song is roughly based on a book by Evan Hunter called “ On The Sidewalk Bleeding”. I remember when I lived with Jon and his family, Jon would be sitting on the floor with a typewriter just typing up pages of rhyming words. The man is a great lyricist.
