Chingon also contributed the song "Malagueña Salerosa" to Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Vol. 2 — which Rodríguez scored — and a live performance by the band was included on the film's DVD release. They also contributed to the soundtrack for his next film, the collaboration with Quentin Tarantino called Grindhouse, doing a cover of the film's opening theme, re-titling it "Cherry's Dance of Death."
Rodríguez plays guitar in the band.
The band's name comes from a Mexican slang term, chingón, meaning "badass."

Se bajo de su caballo
A mirar a las estrallas
A recordar su madre
En la noche tan hermosa
Que viajaba el pistolero
El caballo regreso
Solito a el pueblo
Alacran del desierto
Sin saber mataste a un hombre bueno
Con tu colita llena de veneno
Cayo un hombre vestido de negro
Sin saber mataste al pistolero
Lo buscaron y buscaron
Por los valles del desierto
Lo encontraron por las piedras
Con los ojos abiertos
En la mano la pistola
En la otra el alacran
El pistolero ya no defendera
Alacran del desierto
Sin saber mataste a un hombre bueno
Con tu colita llena de veneno
Cayo un hombre vestido de negro
Sin saber mataste al pistolero
Alacran del desierto
Sin saber mataste a un hombre bueno
Con tu colita llena de veneno
Cayo un hombre vestido de negro
Sin saber mataste al pistolero
Al pistolero...
The song Alacran y Pistolero by Chingon tells a story of a lonely and reflective pistolero who gets killed by an alacran (scorpion) in the desert. The song opens up with a description of a beautiful night, where the pistolero gets off his horse to gaze at the stars and remember his mother. The night is so mesmerizing, and as he travels through the desert, his horse returns to town without him. Later on, we learn that the alacran has killed the pistolero with its venomous sting.
The chorus is repeated, emphasizing the tragedy that the alacran unknowingly killed a good man. The second verse talks about how the townspeople search for the missing pistolero, and they eventually find him in the desert, with a pistol in one hand and the alacran in the other. The pistolero is dead, and there is no one to defend him. The chorus repeats again, emphasizing the senselessness of the pistolero's death.
The song has a somber, melancholic feel to it, with the use of acoustic guitar and steady percussion. The lyrics are also poignant, exploring the themes of mortality, loneliness, and the inescapable nature of fate. The song is a blend of various genres, including Latin, rock, and folk, which resonate with the band's diverse musical influences.

One beautiful night, he descended from his horse
To look at the stars, to remember his mother.
In this so beautiful night, in which travelled the Pistolero
The Horse returned, alone to the village.
Scorpion, of the desert
Unknowingly you killed a good man
With your sting full of poison.
Dropped a man dressed in black
Unknowingly you killed the Pistolero.
They searched him and searched him, in the valleys of the desert
They found him by the stones/rocks(?) with open eyes.
In the hand the pistol, in the other the scorpion
The pistolero no longer defends.
Scorpion, of the desert
Unknowingly you killed a good man
With your sting full of poison.
Dropped a man dressed in black
Unknowingly you killed the Pistolero.
Scorpion, of the desert
Unknowingly you killed a good man
With your sting full of poison.
Dropped a man dressed in black
Unknowingly you killed the Pistolero.

For those who don't understand the Spanish lyrics this song is a sad song about a gunfighter in a desert area. He goes out riding and his horse returns by itself and when the townspeople go searching for him they find his lifeless body with a scorpion in its hand. The song then speaks about how how he was a good man who protected their town and are now lamenting his loss. Alacran=scorpion, pistolero=gunfighter Hope that this helps.
