Baden-Baden
Chisu Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

One day I was sad and penniless
I was expelled from work because of this recession
I scratched my head, where will I get even one note
I couldn't do anything but cry, but I made up from that

I'll put my tears in a bottle and sell them to Sahara
Where that dry, bare ground needs them
Even the president heard of my idea
here's the solution for export problems, he thought
Production would be cheap, Finland is quite depressed country
And you'll get bigger money from Europe than Africa

So let's put tears in bottles
Let's sell them to Baden-Baden
Where Finland's sorrows are pumped in fountains
Yes, let's put tears in bottles, by train to Baden-Baden
Where tourist and another bathes in them

So nation cried and economy got back to it's feet
And happiness begun, but tears of happiness aren't enough
Government thinks long how to solve this crisis
Until someone remembered how alcohol taxes are taken away

And again put tears in bottles
let's sell them to Baden-Baden
Where Finland's sorrows are pumped in fountains

Yes, let's put tears in bottles, by train to Baden-Baden
Where tourist, and others, bathe in them, ooh

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Chisu's "Baden-Baden" depict a person who has lost their job due to the recession and is down on their luck. They are penniless and cannot figure out how to make ends meet. However, the person has come up with an idea to sell their tears to the Sahara desert where the dry and barren land is in need of water. The idea eventually catches the attention of the president, who sees it as a solution to Finland's export problems, and with the production costs being low, they can make significant profits by selling their tears to Europe.

The song then takes a twist as the idea of selling tears gains popularity and leads to the export of Finland's sorrows through tears being bottled and sent to Baden-Baden, a luxury spa town located in Germany. The lyrics suggest that the tears of the nation help to lift the economy out of its slump and bring happiness back to the country. However, the happiness doesn't last because tears of joy are not enough to keep the economy afloat, and the government has to think of another solution. They eventually remember how alcohol taxes are lucrative, and they decide to tax the tears sold in Baden-Baden, leading to another boom in Finland's economy.

Overall, the song is a playful commentary on the state of Finland's economy during the recession and the creative solutions that people come up with to survive. It highlights the power of imagination and the potential for entrepreneurship, even in the direst of situations.

+sergio Martín the lyrics are quite epic actually, making fun of finnish economy and government, i did a quick translation, it's not perfect but hope you enjoy anyway :)

One day I was sad and broke
I had been fired from work because of this recession
I scratched my head, where to find even one bill
I was only able to cry, but it gave me an idea

I’ll bottle my tears and sell them to Sahara!
Where they are needed, that dry barren ground

Even the president herself heard of my idea
Here is the solution for our export problems, she thought
Production would be cheap as Finland is quite depressed country
And instead of Africa, we’ll get bigger money from Europe!

So let’s bottle our tears and sell them to Baden-Baden!
Where Finland's sorrows will be pumped in fountains
Yeah, let’s send bottled tears in train to Baden-Baden!
Where the tourists will bathe in them

And so the people wept and soon the economy got back on its feet
And so the joy was great, but tears of happiness are not enough alone
So the government wondered for a long time how to solve now this crisis

Until someone remembered how to remove the alcohol tax!

And again the bottled tears are sold to Baden-Baden
Where Finland's sorrows are pumped in fountains
Yeah, let’s send bottled tears in train to Baden-Baden
Where the tourists will bathe in them, ooh!

Chisu - Baden Baden (English)

One day I was so unhappy and broke
I was fired because of this depression
I tried to think how I could make a buck
But I could only cry and so I thought:

I would bottle my tears and sell them to the Sahara
Where that barren land needs them

Even the President heard of my idea
He thought this would solve our export problems
The production would be cheap as Finland is so depressed country
And instead of Africa, Europe would bring big bucks

So we bottled our tears and sold them to the Baden-Baden
Where the griefs of Finland would be pumped to the fountains
Yes, let's bottle our tears and ship them to the Baden-Baden
Where a lot of tourists would bathe in them

And the nation weeped and the economy got back on track
And the joy began but the tears of joy weren't enough
The Government thought a lot how to solve this chrisis
Until someone remembered how to lower the alcohol tax

And yet again we bottle our tears and ship them to Baden-Baden
Where the griefs of Finland would be pumped to the fountains
Yes, let's bottle our tears and ship them to the Baden-Baden
Where a lot of tourists would bathe in them

It's an "tarttuva biisi"! Founding in May 2023. Greetings from south germany (near Baden Baden) 😙

@MarkTBird

Tämä on edelleen ehdottomasti paras Chisun biisi. Hieno rakenne, hienot sanat. Tuotanto on ah niin oikeaoppisen amatöörilättyinen, johon tuo varsin pienellä alueella toimiva laulukin uppoutuu just buenosti.

@YPO6

Laahasiko komppi?

@SJLtalentpicks

Juuri näin – tämä on aitoa laatua. 😍
