Her light distinct vocals and poetic lyrics create a very pure, melodious and enchanting sound, which can captivate any listener. She has a varied musical style with her influences consisting of artists such as Joni Mitchell, Turin Brakes and more recently Johnny Flynn and Bon Iver.
Foy started her musical journey at the early age of four when her Mother noticed she had a very natural musical ability and took the decision to enroll her at Gloucester Academy of Music where she was classically trained in Piano and Cello. Through the Academy, Foy managed to develop and expand her performing skills. She has played at several large venues with Orchestras, which include Birmingham Symphony Hall and Cheltenham Music Festival.
Soon afterwards, her strong interest in folk music began to grow and as she started to play the Guitar her songwriting ability also began to flourish.
Now fresh from winning the Live@GloucesterStudio Acoustic Competition and performing at a string of Festivals such as Big Bang and Barn on the Farm, Foy has recently released her debut EP 'I've Got A Feeling'.

And when time stops I'll be done
Were you waiting all night long?
For Asylum for the Gods
For I cannot see them dancing around
Where are your friends and your thoughts abound?
This is the time that we come to rest
Please forgive me time again
I have strength now 'til the end
What's all this for, dark and light?
Move so quickly, try as we might
For I cannot see them dancing around
Where are your friends and your thoughts abound?
This is the time that we come to rest
Rest by the light, what the voyeur does best
Oo oo oo oo
For I cannot see them dancing around
Where are your friends and your thoughts abound?
This is the time that we come to rest
Rest by the light, what the voyeur does best
Rest by the light, what the voyeur does best
Chloe Foy's song Asylum is a hauntingly beautiful piece that speaks of the struggle with time, death, and the idea of afterlife. The song begins with the line "I was waiting for so long" which might suggest that the singer anticipates the end of their life, and that they have been waiting for it for a very long time. When the time finally comes to a stop, the singer believes they will be done. However, the lyrics shift to asking if the listener has been waiting all night long for asylum for the gods. The asylum could represent the place where the singer wants to go in their afterlife, while the gods could allude to the beings that control life and death.
The lyrics continue to explore the singer's inability to see their friends and their thoughts while they rest in the asylum. The singer questions whether the rest is a good thing, as they can't see the dancing around or interact with their friends. The lyrics portray a feeling of being alone in the asylum, with only the voyeuristic light as a constant companion. The singer seeks forgiveness from time again and is willing to endure until the very end. However, the idea of dark and light seems to be puzzling to them, as they move so quickly and try as they might.
Overall, Asylum is a song that captures the human condition and the mystery of life after death. It speaks to the concept of waiting for something that might never come, and the isolation and loneliness that may come with rest. Chloe Foy's lyrics invite listeners to imagine life beyond this one and to explore the possibilities of what might await us.
