When they re-emerged in 1987 with new guitarist Brett Williams and a new album called Big Bad Noise things continued as if they'd never been gone. The album eventually went double platinum and its lead single "Run to Paradise" became the biggest hit of their career, remaining a soundtrack for football games and backyard barbecues for decades to come. Big Bad Noise's other singles, "Struggletown" and "Boys Will Be Boys" both charted as well. This success afforded them the chance to travel to Los Angeles in 1991 to record their follow-up album, Midnight Sun, but like all of their later releases it didn't repeat the success of Big Bad Noise. That year they also recorded a live album, Dead Drunk Live Hangovers, at a concert in Melbourne. Richard Lara of the Screaming Jets and Barton Price of the Models joined the band on guitar and drums respectively in 1996, when they released two albums, Dancing on the Grave of Rock 'N' Roll and Yo Yo. Price left to be replaced by Paul Wheeler of fellow pub rock legends Icehouse before their 2004 album, Evolver. That year they had a bigger hit when Mark Gable contributed a new vocal take for a remix of "Run to Paradise" by Nick Skitz, a DJ known for making minimal changes to pop hits of yesteryear to turn them into dance hits of today. The single, credited to Nick Skitz vs. the Choirboys, went platinum. In 2007 they released their tenth album, So Easy.
Never Gonna Die

You know they think we're all insane
When the Friday's bring the weekends
The night will be our home again
The smell of beer and coffee
The rhythm pushers down the street
They like to touch that freedom
They like to have you at there feet
And you don't have to get up
I'll tell you why
We're never gonna die
We're never gonna die
Kiss 'em all goodbye
We're never gonna die
You say we can't be angels
I say I knew that all along
I don't need social standing
I'm gonna stay where I belong
I don't live for music no
I say I live for rock 'n' roll
We won't let them push us
We won't let them touch us
Tell you why
We're never gonna die
We're never gonna die
Tell 'em why
We're never gonna die
We're never gonna die
You don't have to give in
You don't have to give up
Tell 'em why
We're never gonna die
We're never gonna die
No, we're never gonna die
We're never gonna die
Never gonna
Never gonna die
Never gonna
Never gonna die
Never gonna die
Never gonna die
Not us no
Never gonna die
Not us no
Never gonna die
In "Never Gonna Die" by Choirboys, the lyrics speak to the rebellious spirit and energy of youth culture. The song highlights how society perceives this energy as crazy and insane, yet the lyrics also argue that youth should embrace their freedom and resist the societal pressures to grow up too fast. The song describes the weekend as a moment of release, where people can find their home in the night and revel in the smell of beer and coffee, and the pulsing rhythm of the street. The lyrics suggest that this is where freedom and belonging can be found, not in giving in to society's expectations.
The lyrics urge listeners to embrace their rock and roll spirit and not to give up or give in to societal expectations. The chorus repeats the phrase, "We're never gonna die," suggesting that the spirit of youth culture is never going to die out, no matter what societal pressures exist. The song emphasizes individuality and freedom, and encourages listeners to embrace their unique selves and to resist fitting into societal norms. Ultimately, "Never Gonna Die" celebrates individuality, freedom, and the rebellious spirit of rock and roll culture.
