Seasons
Chout Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Somehow you think that i don't own you
Somehow you think that I'm diseased
I wrote the line then i done told you
Cause I know you'll always follow me

By your lonesome

Seasons cry for no one
You and I were Nothin'
Don't wanna see!
Don't belong to me!
Seasons cry for no one
No one

Whatcha gonna do with all that pain inside?
You no longer see!
But I've given me those dark desires

Now you know why...

Seasons cry for no one
You and I were Nothin'
Don't wanna see!
Don't belong to me!
Seasons cry for no one
No one

Can you feel it?
Pain Inside!
How'd you lose it?
Leave my mind!
So confusin'
Leave me blind!
Slowly losin'
Peace of mind yeah!

Seasons cry for no one
You and I were Nothin'
Don't wanna see!
Don't belong to me!

Seasons cry for no one
No one

Overall Meaning

The song "Seasons" by Chout is a reflective piece on the dynamics between two individuals in a relationship. The first line, "Somehow you think that I don't own you," suggests that there is a power imbalance in the relationship. The following line, "Somehow you think that I'm diseased," may indicate a perceived flaw or negative attribute in the singer. The singer then asserts their control and influence over the other person, stating "I wrote the line then I done told you/Cause I know you'll always follow me."

The chorus of the song consists of the repeated phrase "Seasons cry for no one" which could portray a sense of loneliness or detachment from nature. The line "You and I were Nothin'" suggests that the relationship has lost its significance and that perhaps the individuals involved were not meant to be together. The singer expresses a desire for separation with the line "Don't wanna see/Don't belong to me" which could represent moving on from a relationship or letting go of a person.

The second verse of the song continues the theme of emotional pain and the difficulty in letting go. The line "Whatcha gonna do with all that pain inside?" highlights the struggle of moving on and trying to overcome the hurts and wounds of the past. The final line of the song, "Slowly losin' peace of mind yeah!" suggests a sense of struggle or desperation as the singer grapples with the end of the relationship.

Overall, "Seasons" is a poignant and introspective song about a relationship that has run its course. The lyrics suggest a sense of detachment and isolation, coupled with the difficulty of moving on from the past.

We are in the minority. Maybe in 50 years things will come back around. But at this place in time more brainless fuckers want to be force fed false idols and overly produced trash. They line up with their arms ready for they big mainlined shot of dumpster juice. Long live grunge, metal, and anything that challenges the status quo.

@gx1tar1er

We should stay underground in my opinion cause we have some of the best music, some undiscovered bands, and interesting: more experimental music here (like King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard).

rock & metal will never be pop culture again as the mainstream doesn't want them & they don't want to join our community.

Just share this to rockers & metalheads for more fans; keep supporting the band & keep the genre alive (even though it's dead in pop culture)
We're in the same position as jazz & classical now.

@iMPRE7ed

I feel like he’s coming into his own more in this band. Not sounding exactly like Layne as much. Love his vocals either way, in all his bands 💗

@rmk6444

GypsyRock I totally agree. Either way they’re super talented and the vocals are amazing buttt definitely super Layne/AIC inspired. The Skorned music video for Psychosis was the first time I heard this kid because of his crazy Layne sounding voice and I was a little shocked. Even his shaking his head in between verses was so Layne.. kinda too much. But again, he’s clearly got a beautiful voice and the music itself is great, so hopefully he’ll come into his own more and more over time and fine tune his own style!

@nirvanalx69

Why would he want to sound like Layne anyway?????....this band is killer, he don’t need to sound like anyone but HIM!!!
