No, she a-ain't, she ain't you
No, she a-ain't, she ain't you
No, she a-ain't, she ain't you
You make it hard for me to see somebody else
I'm calling her your name
Yeah, it's messed up 'cause I'm thinking 'bout you
It's your fault, babe, I never wanted us to break up
No, not this way, but you don't understand it, girl
When she touches me, I'm wishing that they were your hands
And when I'm with her, it's only 'bout the sex
With you, I had a bad romance
And if I could just trade her in, I would
'Cause nobody compares to you, no, yeah
I think I better let her go (go), 'cause I can't leave you alone (oh)
Every day that I'm with her, all I want is you (yeah)
I wanna leave but I'm afraid (afraid), that you don't even feel the same (the same)
And now I realize, that she ain't you
No, she ain't you
Oh-oh, oh (oh, no, no-no, no)
Woah-oh, oh (oh, no, no-no, no)
Woah-oh (she ain't you)
Na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na
'Cause she ain't, no, she ain't you
I've been sleeping out for quite some nights now
It's not the same in my bed
But if she found out what's going on in my head
It'll be all bad, have me right back
But you don't understand it, girl, oh
When she touches me, I'm wishing that they were your hands
And when I'm with her, it's only 'bout the sex
With you, I had a bad romance
And if I could (and if I could) just trade her in, I would (I would)
'Cause nobody compares to you, no, yeah (compares to you)
I think I better let her go (go), 'cause I can't leave you alone (oh)
Every day that I'm with her, all I want is you (yeah)
I wanna leave but I'm afraid (afraid), that you don't even feel the same (the same)
And now I realize, that she ain't you
No, she ain't you
She a-ain't, she ain't you
No, she a-ain't, she ain't you
No, she a-ain't, she ain't you
No, she a-ain't, she ain't you
No, she a-ain't, she ain't you
No, she a-ain't, she ain't you
No, she a-ain't, she ain't you
No, she-
I think I better let her go (hey), 'cause I can't leave you alone (woah-oh)
Every day that I'm with her, all I want is you, girl (yeah)
I wanna leave but I'm afraid (afraid), that you don't even feel the same (the same)
And now I realize, that she ain't you
No, she ain't you
Oh-oh, oh (oh)
Oh na-na-na-na (oh na-na-na-na-na)
Woah-oh, oh
Oh na-na-na-na (hey, hey)
Woah-oh (she ain't you)
Na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na
'Cause she ain't, no, she ain't you
In "She Ain't You," Chris Brown expresses the deep longing he has for his ex-girlfriend. He struggles with the fact that he is dating someone else but can't stop thinking about his previous relationship. He confesses that when he is with his current girlfriend, it's only about sex, and he wishes he was with his ex instead. He feels guilty about calling his current girlfriend his ex's name, but he can't help it because he still feels emotionally attached to her. He explains that he never wanted to break up with her and feels that he made a mistake, but she doesn't understand where he is coming from.
Throughout the song, Brown admits that he has been unfaithful to his current girlfriend and has been sleeping outside of his bed. He knows that if his current girlfriend found out, it would be disastrous, and he would be back to where he started. Despite this, he cannot help the way he feels and wishes that he could trade his current girlfriend in for his ex because there's no one else who can pass her. He knows he needs to let his current girlfriend go, but he's afraid that his ex-girlfriend doesn't feel the same way about him.
Overall, "She Ain't You" is a song that highlights the pain of having a broken relationship and the difficulty of moving on from someone you've loved so deeply. The lyrics express the emotions of wanting to reconnect with your ex-partner while simultaneously struggling with guilt and fear of being alone. It's a relatable and heartfelt ballad that captures the complexity of romantic relationships.
