Our World
Chris Janson Lyrics
We make our living up on tractor tires
We drink our beers round big bonfires
We wrap up all of our arms around barbed wire in our world
We crank our music up and down main street
We mix our country with some hip hop beats
Man we′re just leaving that American dream in our world
Hey yeah
On Friday that's were the party begins
On Sunday we do a little preaching in our world
We drop our tops on our back road ride
We got that homegrown hometown pride
You all want little country, just step inside of our world, our world, our world
Hey yeah
On Friday that's were the party begins
On Saturday, ain't nothing but being still
On Sunday we do a little preaching in our world
Oh, that′s our world, baby
It don′t matter what color you are
Where you come from
What you drive, a truck or a car
Everybody's welcome underneath these stars in our world, our world, our world
Hey yeah
On Friday that′s were the party begins
On Saturday, ain't nothing but being still
On Sunday we do a little preaching in our world
That′s our world, baby

In fact, it only took two days at a local Nashville bar to incite a wave of interest from country music's biggest record labels. It could be his intense and vocally stunning performances, his remarkable ability to play the harmonica, or the depth of his songs, but there is something remarkable about this 21 year-old phenomenon. Chris' budding music career has even taken him to the big screen, when legendary film director Johnathan Demme (Silence of the Lambs, Philadelphia, Stop Making Sense) invited him to participate in "Heart of Gold" a documentary capturing Neil Young's 2-night performance at the Historic Ryman Auditorium. Asked to describe his sound, Chris replies that it combines "elements of rock & roll, folk, blues, roots music, and vintage country." Nashville's critics been buzzing with excitement about this emerging star, and have even likened him to a combination of Mick Jagger and Hank Williams Sr. Chris readily acknowledges his influences, but he has a confidence in his identity that transcends his age. "I want to sound like Chris Janson," he says, "It's just what you see on stage, that's what you'll get on my record. I'm not afraid to push the limits. I don't have a set list at my shows, I just play songs. It's all about soul and feel". And as all great country music stars and rock & roll legends are marked by their authenticity and originality, Chris Janson is on that same path toward greatness.

Country Music Forever
I'll admit this song was hard to get through. I lost my mom when I was 8 years old back in 95. So many things she didn't get to see from first and last days at school, graduating, my wedding and meeting her 4 grandkids. I would give anything to have 1 more moment with her, even just to say bye mom.
