The Call
Chris Pierson Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
To declare war on ourselves
We've already started breaking from this world gone insane
Hold on
I see lonely faces crying
Cannot help but stop stare
Till we all just die in vain
Till we all justified our place
Just until now were finally safe
This is a motion
To declare war on ourselves
Said I am all of those people from this world gone insane
Till we all just die in vain
Till we all just find our place
Just until we are finally safe
This is a call
Does anyone care
What can you call me
Till we all die in vain
Till we fall just find our place
Just until now were finally saved
The lyrics to Chris Pierson's song The Call are a poignant comment on the state of humanity in the modern age. The song starts with the declaration of a motion to declare war on ourselves, which is a metaphor for the ways in which we continually harm ourselves and each other. It speaks to the idea that we are already breaking from the world that has become unbalanced and insane.
The song then continues with a powerful message about the human experience. The lyrics "I see lonely faces crying, cannot help but stop and stare, I am thee of those people dying from this world gone insane" convey a sense of desperation, hopelessness, and helplessness. The artist paints a clear picture of the overwhelming suffering in the world and the empathy one might feel for those who are experiencing such pain. The chorus, "This is a call, does anyone care, what can you call me," is a plea for help and intervention, asking if anyone cares about the plight of others.
The repetition of the lines "Till we all just die in vain, till we all just find our place, just until now we're finally safe" suggests that until we come together as a unified people, the world will continue to break down, and we will all suffer. The song is a powerful call to action to address the many problems facing humanity and work towards creating a better world for us all.
