Dream On
Christian Falk Robyn & Ola Salo Lyrics

Punks and lifers
Fucked up interns
Pigs and snitches
Rest your weary heads, all is well
You won't be strip-searched, torn up tonight
You won't be strung out, cold, shaking to your bones
Wishing you were anywhere else but right here
So dream on
Thieves and muggers
Tricks and hustlers
Cheats and traitors
Scum and low-lives
Rest your weary heads, all is well
You won't be sad or broken tonight
You won't be squealed on, ripped up tonight
You won't be back-stabbed, double cross, face down
Teeth knocked out, lying in a gutter somewhere
So dream on
Freaks and junkies
Fakes and phonies
Drunks and cowards
Manic preachers
Rest your weary heads, all is well
You won't be pushed or messed with tonight
You won't be lied to, ruffed up tonight
You won't be insane, paranoid, obsessed
Aimlessly wandering through the dark night
So dream on
The lyrics to Christian Falk & Robyn's song "Dream On" praise the idea of dreaming as a temporary escape from the harsh reality of life. The song creates a picture of society filled with "thugs and badmen, punks and lifers, freaks and junkies, fakes and phonies" and other unsavory individuals. While the lyrics paint a bleak picture of life, the song is far from being a bleak and solemn ballad as it is accompanied by upbeat and energetic music.
The chorus line "Rest your weary heads, all is well" is repeated again and again, serving as a reassurance to the listener that despite everything that is happening in the world, there is still some hope for a peaceful and safe future. The verse lines that follow the chorus offer vivid imagery painted with powerful adjectives such as "strung out, cold, shaking to your bones" to convey the difficult lives of those mentioned.
Overall, the song offers a powerful message of hope and encouragement to those struggling in life, urging listeners to dream on and not lose sight of their hopes and aspirations.

This song would be nothing without Robyn. She has that special voice.
@Leaveyou88
Dealing drugs leads to violence, overdosing and opening up a life of crime to kids. Doing hard time for dealing is as it should be. But even those kind of people needs a song like this, we're all human.

@stigmundfreud
This is currently my most listened to tune, love it. Something about her vocals just hooks me in. Its a case of the sublime, its right yet the lyrics mean it shouldn't be. Love it. This is what the scene has been missing since perhaps 2004
