Christina Grimmie Lyrics

Baby
You said our castle in the sky would never fall apart
Baby
I thought that you could never do wrong
You talk like you’re straight out of a love song
I don’t buy a word that you say
Cause your love is cliché
You said your life would suck
Without me
You used to say my name
So proudly
Said I was the only girl
In the whole world
And every other girl they got nothing on me
So stereo so stereo
Such stereotypical lies
So typical so typical
So predicable I know it’s a lie
I believed in all your candy hearts
Baby
You said our castle in the sky would never fall apart
Baby
I thought that you could never do wrong
You talk like you’re straight out of a love song
I don’t buy a word that you say
Cause your love is cliché
Cause your love is cliché
He said as long I’ll have you
I’d never be alone
You used to whisper sweet nothings through a pay phone
Said if I listen close I could hear that bass go
I could hear that heart beat boom like a stereo
So stereo so stereo
Such stereotypical lies
So typical so typical
So predicable I know it’s a lie
I believed in all your candy hearts
Baby
You said our castle in the sky would never fall apart
Baby
I thought that you could never do wrong
You talk like you’re straight out of a love song
I don’t buy a word that you say
Cause your love is cliché
Cause your love is cliché
I believed in all your candy hearts
Baby
You said our castle in the sky would never fall apart
Baby
I thought that you could never do wrong
You talk like you’re straight out of a love song
I don’t buy a word that you say
Cause your love is cliché
Cause your love is cliché
The lyrics of Christina Grimmie's song Cliche are about a person who has fallen for someone's charm but eventually realized that their love is nothing more than a stereotype. In the first verse, the person talks about how they believed in all the sweet words and promises said by their love interest. They believed that their love was indestructible and that their relationship was like a castle in the sky that could never fall apart. However, they realize that their love interest talks like he comes straight out of a love song, and they don't buy a word of what he says. He is nothing more than a cliché.
The second verse talks about how the love interest used to say that he couldn't live without the person and how she is the only girl in the world for him. He would talk about the other girls, saying that they have nothing on her. However, the person realizes that everything he says are just stereotypical lies, typical and predictable.
Overall, the lyrics point out how people use clichés instead of their own words and that statements like "you're the only one," "you complete me," and "I can't live without you" are common phrases. Ultimately, the person realizes the love they once believed to be pure and genuine is nothing but a cliché.

@jazzyjazz9542
the worst cliché is that good people die young. Thanks for all your music, you're amazing.

Wow! Couldn't agree more. RIP Christina
@Discosaturn
Even worse than that cliche about good people dying too young is that too many celebrities have died this year. Prince, David Bowie, Anton Yelchin, Gene Wilder, Muhammad Ali and of course Christina Grimmie... Need I say more? This world sucks.
@alongyellowthing1955
Gaddafi didn't died young. Still he was a very good dictator.

Her high note through 3:02 and the ending made me cry, I can’t believe your gone. You didn’t deserve any of this that happened to you and I wish I could have done something to stop it but I’m happy your not suffering anymore and is in a better place other then this crew world we live in. RIP Christina Grimmie. Your beautiful soul would live in all of us forever and your legacy would continue on with the amazing written songs that you made before you leaving us. Ps: stop hating on this song, it’s beautiful. #CGforever
