Christmas
Christmas Band Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire
Jack Frost nipping at your nose
Yule-tide carols being sung by a choir
And folks dressed up like Eskimos.

Everybody knows a turkey and some mistletoe
Help to make the season bright
Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow
Will find it hard to sleep tonight.

They know that Santa's on his way
He's loaded lots of toys and goodies on his sleigh
And every mother's child is gonna spy
To see if reindeer really know how to fly.

And so I'm offering this simple phrase
To kids from one to ninety-two

Although it's been said many times, many ways
Merry Christmas to you!

Something about brass band always gets me in the mood for Christmas.
Don't know why, but the music they produce fills my heart with warmth :)

Love carols by brass bands when played straightforwardly, that is, without these fancy arrangements! Reminds me of early sixties in Grey Lynn, Auckland, NZ when small ensembles of Salvation Army would play carols in neighbourhood streets on Christmas Eve. A merry Christmas to one and all!

I love this. Thank you for this. I love the sound of brass instruments playing Christmas music. I think it's all the childhood movies that always had this kind of music in the background. I feel very nostalgic. Merry Christmas, everyone!

This brings back a lot of memories. 😊 I was in a band myself for about ten years until a heart attack stopped me cold in my tracks. Now I sadly don’t have enough air to blow my cornet. 😢 I am
happy, however, for every brass player who still has the ability to get those long notes out. 😍
This is a wonderful collection. Thank you.

There are incredible keyboards/home organs around. I bought a Yamaha HS8 for £250 originally on sale at £7,000. Brilliant sounds and you might enjoy learning the simple skills needed. Don't give up on making music.

Your post was heartfelt and touching I hope next year to assemble a small band together to play in front of a local discount store for donations for the Salvation Army . With Gods help and prayers I hope to make this come to pass . Can you find an instrument more efficient (smaller bore) to once again play your beloved cornet ? Or could you teach? A prayer has already been sent for you at this Holy time of the season . . Please tell me of your band and your experience . Bless you .
