No Time For Talk
Christopher Cross Lyrics

Well I read it in town in the melancholy news
The front page story is our love is through
The hand of time is cold -- I can't stand to hear the truth
Somehow I won't believe it 'til I've heard it from you

But there's no time for talk
And there's no place for tears
There's no reason to wonder after all of these years
Sure we had some good times
And so who's to blame
It's so hard to tell when you both feel the pain

After the years have come and gone
The struggle to forget you will have just begun
We had our ups and downs but one thing's for sure
No one will ever love you more

This is one of those songs that just never gets old. I have listened to it so many times, and every time is as good as the first.

This should have been one of Christopher Cross’ biggest hits!

Dennis Fodor

Especially since CBS used it as their.intro during 1983 NBA Playoffs

Dennis Fodor

Yup. Especially since CBS used it on their NBA plsyoff coverage in 1983

When you listen to the bridge, a trained musician can hear that there is quite a bit of sophistication in the chord choices. This is something I don't remember hearing at all in pop music in the last 15 or 20 (and maybe even 25) years.

@riccardo rasconi 1:46 to around 2:24.

I agree

You probably mean between about 1:46 to 2:00. Michael Omartian is not only a clever producer but also a fine pianist.

Karen Pearlman

Yes

Jan Willem Wilkens

so true
