Honestly one of the most underrated Post-Punk albums ever.

Great original super Sound ,👂 the freshness for 1980, it's remarkable & this song had no expiration date.

Man l loved this track when it came out. And now, l wonder about its influence on early cabaret voltaire and Gary Numan....

Jules N

@Jeff McMillan l also have Red Mecca and 2 x 45 on vinyl…

@Jeff McMillan Interesting Jeff, and it is to me when they nailed that great caustic sound - as duo. By the way, funny thing connected with Cabaret Voltaire happened to me about a year ago. By a highly unlikely coincidence, an old TAMA TG 80 guitar of mine surfaced on the net after 30 years in another city’s pawn shop back room, and right at the point that l was finally looking for a replacement for it. The second that it arrived at the post pick-up point, l tore open the packaging to (almost disbelievingly) see ‘C V’ carved into the hard case. My ex-girlfriend had pawned it for $40 in 1991and it had sat there ever since, unopened and unsold , still in perfect condition. :)

@Jules N Red Mecca's the JAM. Was revisiting it on vinyl the other day.

I sort of had the reverse experience of you, I got into CV in high school around the Drinking Gasoline period, and interestingly got into Chrome later through hearing Helio's solo stuff. Chrome was not actually easy to get into at the time as the shops had been flooded with a lot of the Damon Edge Chrome stuff, which was not instantly appealing. It was only when I got a solid listen of Half Machine Lip Moves did I understand that I needed to concentrate on their output as a duo.

@Jeff McMillan True Jeff - just had a look, with Red Mecca released 1981. I was 18 and bloody loved it. Always keen to learn. I came to Chrome a couple of years after CV. Around a year ago I was looking at Chrome's contemporaries such as Tuxedo Moon, and other bands on, from memory, 4AD, amongst other labels... Very, very interesting.

Jeff McMillan

Chrome and Cabs were contemporaries, I'd like to think they influenced each other. :)
