Spanish pop/rock band Chucho was formed by singer/guitarist Fernando Alfaro after Surfin' Bichos disbanded in 1994, who was soon joined by ex-República Gorila bassist Carlos Rodríguez and drummer Javier Fernández. The group recorded a self-titled EP in 1995, released by independent Limbo Starr Records. Chucho's first album, called 78, was recorded after signing up to Virgin in 1997; the album includes "El Detonador EMX-3," which was featured in the movie soundtrack of Alejandro Amenabar's Abre Los Ojos. 78, voted Best Record of the Year by Rock de Luxe magazine, was followed by an EP called Sal. After guitarist Miguel Gascón joined in, the band recorded Tejido de Felicidad, produced by ex-Negu Gorriak Kaki Arkarazo, released by Virgin in 1999. Singer Isabel León and local musician Emilio Abengoza teamed up with Chucho to make 2001's Los Diarios de Petróleo.
Afterwards in 2004 Chucho released their last album called "Koniec" and then disbanded. Nowadays ex-members of Chucho and Mercromina has joined again to tour as old Surfin' Bichos.

Hoy me he encontrao que me dejó tirao mi amigo,
Corre el aire.
Un ángel turbio está al caer,
Un ángel turbio está al caer
Es un humano a medio hacer
Que se desdobla en otra piel
Y se desdobla en otra piel
Y se desdobla en otra piel.
Un ángel turbio está al caer
Desde el turbo infierno, turbo-hell.
Un ángel turbio está al caer
En un turbohélice, turbo-hell.
"Un ángel turbio" by Chucho is a powerful and poetic song that speaks to the struggle of addiction and the human desire to find comfort in self-destructive vices. The song opens with the image of a murky zone that can be seen from a medium height, where an angelic figure appears to be falling. This figure represents the singer's inner struggle with addiction, which is often painted as a dark force that has taken over his body and soul.
The second verse speaks more directly about addiction as the singer refers to it as his "vice of always", the one that comforts him, but also makes him tremble and want to die. The lyrics suggest that this addiction is powerful enough to overcome any sense of transparency or purity that the singer might have had before. The chorus then warns that the singer is not alone in his struggle, that he shares a commonality with this "half-made human" who is falling alongside him. This emphasizes the universality of addiction and how it can affect anyone, regardless of their background or circumstances.
The third verse continues to explore the many facets of addiction – sometimes it provides a sense of love, but at the same time, it can also be the source of great pain and suffering. The singer laments how his addiction has caused him to lose friends and to be left out in the cold. The final chorus uses even more intense imagery to describe the singer's descent into addiction – he is falling from a "turbo-infected hell" and there seems to be no end in sight.
Overall, "Un ángel turbio" is a song that captures the pain, the obsession, and the sense of desperation that comes with addiction. The lyrics are raw and honest, and they provide a vivid portrayal of what it feels like to be trapped in this cycle of self-destruction.
