I was stationed at Paris Island, South Carolina in the Marine Corp. with this song came out.  Very nostalgic memories!

Heard this the first time when I was 12 years old...fell in love with it. What a flip side.

John Wayne I asked Chuck Berry to play Deep Feeling in 1958 when he appeared at Jimmy Menutis' Club on Telephone Road in Houston, Texas and he told me he couldn't play it because he did not bring his Hawaiian guitar.

When kids got together at my house in the late 50's to play records, we jitterbugged to every Chuck Berry Song. I used to flip over the 45 that had "School Days" and played the B Side which we never, ever, heard on the radio. "Deep Feeling" mesmerized me. It created a trance like sensation that went beyond just listening to music as we knew it back then. For many teenagers, turning over that 45 to the B side was our first introduction to The Blues. Thank you Chuck Berry. We love you for that as much as for "Sweet Little Sixteen and "Maybelline."

Carl Rudd too

That's a beautifully historic and insightful recollection, Nancy. I could readily sit down and listen to you talk about those times. Yes, we also devoured B sides in the late 60s/early 70s when we were teens.
Your comment is perfect.
