I saw Berry play in a small theater in 1984. The police kept ordering people off the stage and Berry kept inviting them on stage. That's rock and roll attitude for you! He was about 58 years old...

Love this - the attitude what all guitarists want to have.

THE TRUE KING OF ROCK & ROLL!

Marakesh7

Sorry. Elvis will always be THE TRUE KING.

Chuck was the poet of rock n roll; the true King Of Rock n Roll was Little Ricard

The second side solo after the first chorus is insane, been working on it for 8 weeks and still can't get it

Eisa

On this day in 1957 {December 29th} Chuck Berry began a two day recording session at the Chess Studios in Chicago, Illinois...
One of the songs recorded was "Guitar Boogie"; it would be track six of side one on his second studio album, 'One Dozen Berrys', and amazingly the album did not make either Billboard's Pop or R&B Albums chart...
The song wasn't released as a single, but two others recorded at the sessions were; "Sweet Little Sixteen" {peaked at #2} and "Johnny B. Goode" {reached #8}...
And, God willing, come next October 18th {2016} Charles Edward Anderson Berry will celebrate his 90th birthday...
Here's the best of wishes to the 'Father of Rock 'n Roll'....
