What Am I Living For
Chuck Willis Lyrics
What am I living for if not for you,
What am I living for if not for you,
What am I living for if not for you,
Oh nobody else, nobody else will do
What am I longing for each lonely night,
To feel your lips to mine, to hold you tight
You'll be the only girl my whole life through,
Oh nobody else, nobody else will do
I want you all the time because darling I love you so
What am I living for if not for you,
What am I living for if not for you,
What am I living for if not for you,
Baby nobody else, nobody else will do
What am I living for if not for you,
Darling nobody else, nobody else will do
Nobody else, nobody else will do

Hi I’m in my late 70s now this brings back great memories ,Chuck died way too young 30 years old ,I remember doing the stroll to a lot of his songs , I think he should’ve made it into the rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame....

My goodness the stroll haven't heard that word on over 50 years. Those were the good old days. Still listening 2022.

I was 6 years old when this came out, and we sang it all the time. I grew up in New Orleans, and everytime I hear that song it brings me back. I'm almost 70 now, and I feel blessed to remember when music was music. Your loved one was and is so special to you. You were blessed to have her. Take care!

Wife and I celebrated our 61st anniversary yesterday the 21st. of Dec. we married in Dec. 1957 and this song came out the next march. I used to call in to the late night Radio show of Hossman Bill Allen on WLAC Nashville Tenn. to dedicate this song to my wife. I still play it to her on youtube each anniversary.

I remember the HOSS MAN Bill Allen well. I could pick him up at night on the am band 1510 WLAC radio. The 50000 watt clear channel signal traveled hundreds of miles at night, and sometimes faded in and out, but I always waited until it came back. New Orleans is a long way from GALLATIN, Tennessee, but we got them. They had such shows as Ernie's and Randy's record mart, where they sold 45's via mail order. Let's not forget the "BIG JOHN R", John Richbourg. These men were years ahead of their time. They introduced us to the best in blues and soul music. RIP to all of these men. I love history.
